**History of The Awosting Club** In the mid 1950's John Atwater Bradley, then a graduate student, attended a conference in Cragsmoor, the site of a celebrated art colony not far from what is now the Awosting Reserve and The Awosting Club. The next morning at dawn, he went out for an exploratory hike and did not return until long after dark. Bradley hiked through evergreen and hardwood forests, along bubbling streams, roaring waterfalls and shimmering mountain lakes. He discovered an incredible wilderness like none he'd ever seen, populated by whitetail deer, black bear, fox, raccoons, bobcat and coyote as well as a natural aviary of hawks, peregrine falcons, owls, eagles and pileated woodpeckers. That day he fell in love with the Shawangunk Ridge.
The Bradley family still lives on the property, and after 50 years of sharing the property with educational organizations, schools, artists, writers, explorers, camps, family and friends, are excited to invite others to fall in love with the Shawangunk Ridge as John Bradley had over 70 years ago. Bradley's daughter, Camilla, and her family are keeping the Awosting traditions alive by sprucing up the camp buildings and platforms while maintaining the trails that have been used for decades for outdoor adventures: from sleeping to eating to playing to communing with nature in all her glory.

Only thing that could have made it better was staying 2 nights … gem of a getaway … hiking was amazing also. Dog friendly .. quiet lovely getaway .. anyone lucky enough to stumble upon will be rewarded
First of all, super cool location. You can hear the waterfalls and the creek down below you and the tents are perched on basically a cliffside, which was very cool and picturesque. The tent windows face out towards the woods and they're all spaced fairly far apart, so while you're inside you're not like, looking out at the neighboring tents, which was nice. The fire pit is pretty sweet too, very big and heavy-duty, and the little deck the tent was on was super nice to sit and drink morning coffee on.
This was our first time 'glamping' so I'm not sure what it's usually like, but basically it was just like normal camping only in a huge, gorgeous tent with a real bed, a mini fridge and an AC. If you want to cook or make coffee or anything you'd still have to bring a stove or something (adding an electric kettle to the tent would make this a lot easier though!) and there's no potable water, so we brought our own. The bathroom is a latrine outside which was totally fine for the summer but I bet it's pretty cold to use it in the winter. We'd definitely come back though! It was so hot and muggy while we were there that we didn't get to explore the trails on the property too much, but it's cool that they connect to state park land.

Amazing stay - spacious and cozy, and loved the surrounding area.
We were looking for a off-the grid beautiful sights experience
Peaceful, beautiful views, camping bonus style! This exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be back what a gem this place is! Katie was great from beginning to the end of our stay.
We had a great stay! The dome is so cozy and plenty warm even though it was so cold outside. The view is beautiful and it really is such a great place to stay. Would recommend and stay again! Also, Kristen went above & beyond and was such a great host. Made us feel right at home.
Such a surprising gem with hiking access to Minnewaska State Park. Great service and well designed layout of the domes to maximize views and sense of privacy. Highly recommended.

Great host. Everything was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Our stay here was so much fun! It was something different and was great for a quick little getaway. The hosts were very nice and accommodating, great at checking in with us and seeing if anything was needed & very responsive to us. The place itself was clean & cozy with such a comfortable bed!
What a great short stay.. loved it.. exactly what we needed and wanted..if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.. this is it!! Will book again!!
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was such a great place to stay. The host was great and the Dome was clean and well maintained. The hike to the waterfalls was so much fun and the time I got to spend with my husband was great. If you have the opportunity to stay here do it and I can definitely say we will be back.
A friend and I wanted a "mom getaway" and could not have found a better retreat! The globe has everything you need and the views are spectacular - take a moment to treat yourself and spend your time exploring the nearby hikes, rest on the porch or sit by the fire - with the sound of water in the distant.
Amazing place to reconnect with each other and the universe!
Stars and moon under a gorgeous dome! Owls hooting beatiful to hike! Dont let the outhouse deter u! Everyone should have this once in a lifetime experience!
I still can’t believe we stayed at this amazing place! It exceed our expectations in every way possible. It’s comfortable, cozy and serene. We could hear the waterfall from our dome and that was an extra perk. Book it!!! You won’t be disappointed. We will be back sooner than later that’s for sure.
I seriously wasn't sure what to expect and I certainly wasn't expecting to find the perfection that I did.
The dome itself was stunning, bed comfortable, swing was swinging, the fireplace gave just the right amount of ambiance. The fridge was the perfect size and the campfire pit was great. The grill took a bit of work to manage but that was user error.
The check-in process and staff were great, and the hike to the falls was beautiful.
Definiately a 10/10 and all my friends who saw my photos on IG were immediately asking for more info. Will be staying again... and again... and hopefully again.
The host was beyond accommodating and met us well before check-in time. She gave us numerous suggestions and even was willing to loan us her Kayak!!
The dome was super cute, fully furnished, overlooked a gorgeous Catskill Mountain view, had onsite hiking trails… I could go on and on!!
