Walhalla History...
Walhalla was originally an Indian Village, located near Long Lake in the heart of the Manistee National Forest, approximately 17 miles east of the town of Ludington. This area is a nature lover's dream. The National Forest, Pere Marquette River and nearby beaches of Lake Michigan combine to offer unlimited recreational possibilities. The Manistee National Forest offers thousands of acres of land for hiking, snowmobiling, hunting, dirt biking and ATV trails. It is the only national forest with an ATV trail system in western Lower Michigan, and connects with an additional 180 miles of "off road vehicle" trails east of Highway 37. Over thirty lakes and three rivers in the area offer salmon, steelhead, rainbow and brown trout fishing. Ludington State Park is located just a short drive from Walhalla and is called "Queen of Michigan's Parks." It features sand dunes and virgin forests, miles of sandy beach, 14 miles of hiking and biking trails and three campgrounds. Fishing charters are also available in Ludington, as well as canoe and kayak rentals, watercraft and boat rentals - even dune buggy rides. Other points of interest include the Big Sable Point Lighthouse and Historic White Pine Village, which is a collection of 21 buildings that depict small-town life in Michigan during the late 1800s and beyond. Walhalla Village is a great place to escape city life and "get away from it all"

We had a fun stay. We loved the location to Ludington State Park and The Manistee National forest. We hiked all day, and relaxed in the cabin at night. We would stay again!!
The Walhalla cabin was super cute and very clean. We went to Ludington one day and went to the beach and hiked the dunes. The next day we went to Baldwin Canoe Rental and tubed the Pere Marquette River. Both spots were beyond beautiful! Having a fire at the cabin at night was the perfect end to our day. Thanks again for a great stay, we hope to be back soon!!

Met expectations
Overall, the place was great! We didn't quite like that it was so close to a busy main road(too much traffic noise), but Dollar General and a local restaurant were just a walk away. It was definitely better than staying at a hotel for what was on our itinerary.
This cabin was a nice place for us to have a ling weekend away for a fishing trip. Great value. The reviews say you need to bring linens and towels but they were available. Listing pictures shows a chest freezer (big reason why I chose this cabin) but it wasn’t there. This ended up not being an issue since the fish didn’t cooperate. Overall, a very good experience. Would stay there again.
Our experience at Jeff's cabin was better than expected.
The cabin was in close proximity to Ludington State Park where we spent a lot of time.
The kitchen is fully equipped for those interested in preparing a meal. The bathroom is a medium to small size. It just needs a bath rug so guests don't slip and some extra towel hangers.
The two bedrooms are a good size (on the small side). I would suggest some coat hooks and a curtain or shade for one bedroom since the morning sun starts caressing your eyes way too early.
The lighting system in the cabin is weak, therefore reading a book would be challenging.
The place was pretty clean, but the toilet especially needed extra attention.
Since guests have to clean the cabin before leaving, you can find all the disinfectants and cleaning products in a cabinet.
Jeff should upgrade the photos since they don't reflect with accuracy the nice layout of the cabin.
Overall, we had a fun weekend exploring the surroundings.
Was a great stay perfect location to all of our discgolf needs and the dollar general came in hand . The cabin had everything we needed for our stay would recommend for any type of stay.
Just a perfect place for us to get away. Do some fishing and not worry about leaving the boat there while we do other things! Restaurant across the street is a huge plus when limited time for dinner between trips. Looking forward to many more stays!
Cozy cabin with everything we needed. Nice quiet spot in the backyard for campfire and relaxing. Close to river for kayak adventure and trails for hiking. Easy ride to Ludington for a day in the town/beach. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
