Your stylishly decorated private room with private ensuite bathroom is located in a guesthouse with six private rooms in total. All our rooms are modern and light and have a comfortable large double bed and a luxury ensuite bathroom. Each room has coffee and tea facilities. The guesthouse is located right next to the famous Volendam harbour. Just walk out of the front door and you will be in the middle of everything this traditional Dutch town has to offer. Supermarkets and other shops are just a few minutes walk away. ➤ Please note that this apartment is located above a bar in a lively street. Where it is possible to sit inside and outside. Although majority of it is now catered towards tourism, you should not be surprised to see locals pass by in traditional dress and fishing is still a big part of the income for this community. You will be able to enjoy this folklore while visiting the harbour, the museums and churches. From Volendam it is only a short way to Amsterdam and Alkmaar if you want to enjoy some city life and to other smaller Dutch towns that are located on the Markemeer and Ijsselmeer lakes such as Marken, Enkhuizen and Hoorn. Or how about a day trip to one of the Dutch islands? It is the perfect location to experience many of the aspects that Dutch culture has to offer. \## Transit From Schiphol, take the train to Amsterdam Central Station. Jul 21, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in Disliked: Communication, location, listing accuracy Het inchecken verliep prima. Maar toen we de (schone) kamer inkwamen, was het alsof we een sauna inliepen. De zon had de hele dag vol in de kamer geschenen, dus het was er bloedheet. Er kon geen raam open en er was geen airco of ventilator. We moesten de koffers op de grond zetten, en konden geen kleding eruit halen omdat er geen kast aanwezig was. Ook even goed kunnen zitten was niet mogelijk, aangezien er geen stoelen stonden en er was ook geen tafel. Dus dan maar op het bed zitten om nog wat op de laptop te werken. Balen toen ik er achter kwam dat de Wifi niet werkte. Gebeld hierover maar ze konden niks voor me betekenen maar zouden me terugbellen. Na vier uur wachten, zelf maar weer gebeld. Ze hadden geen oplossing, vonden het vervelend voor me maar zagen het niet als een probleem. Ze hadden bedacht dat ik wel in een restaurant/hotel in de buurt zou kunnen gaan zitten met mijn laptop... Alle horecagelegenheden zaten propvol feestvierende mensen en ook de terrassen vol. Een jaarlijks, terugkerende feest van de Volendamse ondernemingen. We wisten dat het wat gehorig kon zijn op onze kamer, vlakbij een bar maar rondom het 'appartement' zijn meerdere, met allen het muziek op standje tien. De kopjes op het 'nachtkastje' trilden van het ritmisch lawaai, (geen grap!) en dit ging door tot een uur of drie. Daarna tot in de vroege uurtjes, het gelal van de weer naar huiswaards kerende feestgangers. Nauwelijks geslapen en zonder ontbijt (geen keukentje), om tien uur uitgecheckt. ##### Yvonne B.
