Visit one of Santiago’s prettiest neighbourhoods to explore art galleries, browse high-end fashion stores and relax in urban parks.

Walk along the wide pavements and palm-lined streets of Vitacura to experience one of Santiago’s most stylish neighbourhoods. Browse the exclusive fashion stores and shopping malls and investigate art galleries and museums. Picturesque urban parks are here for relaxing walks.

Find major attractions in the southwest corner of the neighbourhood, including Santiago’s most popular shopping district. The avenue of Alonso de Córdova features international luxury brands, innovative home decoration stores and independent boutiques, which sell everything from clothing to accessories. Discover over 50 retailers and restaurants set around an open-air courtyard at Parque Arauco, a shopping mall on the border of Vitacura and Las Condes.

See Latin American and international art at the free Museo Ralli. The gallery’s 16 exhibition halls house works by notable artists such as Marc Chagall, Salvador Dalí and Auguste Rodin. Go to the Museo de la Moda (Fashion Museum) to see clothes from the 17th century to the present day. Temporary exhibitions cover everything from ‘80s fashion and sportswear from the 1962 soccer World Cup to tributes to Michael Jackson and Princess Diana.

Take a break from sightseeing amid the peaceful surroundings of Parque Bicentenario. Bring a book or picnic and relax on the lawn or in the shade of a tree. Enjoy views of Santiago’s mountain backdrop from the park’s lookout point. Check out the Paseo de las Esculturas (Sculpture Walk), which features works of art by well-known Chilean artists. The park’s amphitheatre hosts regular free jazz, blues and classical music concerts.

The neighbourhood is recognized for its culinary scene. Find restaurants set inside elegant houses along Nueva CostaneraStreet and VitacuraStreet. Try tasting menus produced with local ingredients at Boragó, a restaurant owned by celebrity Chilean chef Rodolfo Guzmán.

Vitacura is a 15-minute drive from Plaza de Armas in Santiago’s city centre. The neighbourhood is easily accessible by public buses and the metro. The Escuela Militar stop is a 10-minute walk from Parque Arauco. While exploring the city, catch the hop-on hop-off tourist bus to the park.
