"On a 10 day solo tour of Spain I decided at the last minute to spend two days in Gorda, Portugal. There is a fully equipped kitchen, so you can bring your own food. I met the owner the first morning, and he gave me so much helpful information about the area that I decided to stay a second day."

"Hotel is beautifully situated. Great view from our room! Staff are very attentive and helpful. Restaurant à la carte meals were excellent and one evening buffet was fairly good as well. Breakfasts were great. One wish is that there would have been a 24 hour lobby coffee bar to get early morning coffee (or a machine in the room). Staff in the breakfast room were very accommodating, but only available after 8am when the restaurant opened."
