The guesthouse rooftop has good view of the ghat. The roof top restaurant also has good ambience and view. 2\. The food at the rooftop restaurant is made fresh and is good. 3\. The guesthouse is right on the ghat so easy access if you want to take a dip in the Ganga. Cons: 1\. The stairs to rooms are extremly steep and not well designed. If you have elderly people in your family or with knee problems then you will have a lot of problems climbing the stairs and going to your rooms. 2\. There are no windows in the room that bring in fresh air, so the air in the room is always stale and damp. At times it feels suffocating so folks with astma will have a lot of problems. 3\. Rooms have bunk beds.. which are difficult to climb on to. Again, elderly or old people will have a tough time to climb to the bunk beds. Also young children run into the risk of falling down in their sleep. 4\. I specifically called and asked whether the rooms have attached bathrooms and the owner said yes but that is not the case. No rooms have attached bathrooms and you have to again climb the steep stairs to go to the common bathrooms. 5\. The rooms are extremly overprised for that they have to offer. 6\. Room service is negligible. The person will not show up once the room is alloted to you. No cleaning, No garbage collection, nothing. 7\. The location was perfect, we could see the Ganga Aarti right from the terrace of the Guesthouse. Restaurant food was great but the service is slow, took one hour for Dinner to come. Of all the places we could have picked to stay in Varanasi, this was the BEST! Right on the Ganges, we had a river view right above the main Ghat for ceremonies, dawn boat rides and sacred bathing. The delightful rooftop restaurant staff always served us with a warm smile and a touch to the heart. The all veg food was well prepared and delicious. There is an even higher rooftop, where I took my morning coffee and communed with the monkeys, did some yoga and watched the waterfront wake up. Be prepared for stairs to climb (preparing you for trekking in the Himalayas?) and you have to be prepared for close quarters. It was perfect for us--my husband even adjusted his morning workout to fit the space. Litet trångt hotell men med perfekt läge vid Ganges. Varje kväll klockan 7 kan man se en vacker ceremoni alldeles utanför bäst är att se den från restaurangen eller hotellets tak. Det står att frukost ingår men det gör det inte. Dom städade inte rummet dom 4 nätter vi var där. Rummet rymmer bara sängen och en liten golvyta som blev nästan helt täckt av våra väskor. Ingen plats för stolar. Badrummet var ganska stort. Det är smala trappor med höga steg upp till hotellet/ rummen, så man bör ha lätt för att röra sig. Luftkonditioneringen fungerade wi-fi också. Tagsüber laut, nachts leider auch nicht unbedingt leise, das ist aber kein Fehler des Guesthouse sondern der Umgebung einschließlich Straßenhunde geschuldet. Wenn man das Komplettpaket Varanasi erleben will ist man hier goldrichtig. It's main virtue is its location. From the roof it has a first class view of life and events on the ghat below, and across the Ganges to the far bank, the most popular part for visiting. At the foot of the ghat is the site of the evening puri for the holy river. A family of monkeys inhabited the terrace below our window and made entertaining early morning watching as they scampered around the exterior of the building.
