If it's your first time traveling during COVID-19, you'll notice plenty of new rules and regulations in place. Follow these tips and make your trip to Val a smooth one:

• Understand what rules and restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you lock in your flight.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to adjust your mask for ID purposes.
• To avoid cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on bag. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to take it out of your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Put any personal items (phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA agent will need to open your bag for inspection.
