"Very spacious, lovely modern decor, so you get both a lovely 5 star stay but being able to enjoy the old town once you step out. Staff are friendly, able to tell you what are open for the night on a map (as it was a public holiday when we went). The breakfast is also worth it (just 1000yen pp?), not the type with luxurious ingredients but it was all nicely laid out and a very comfy cafe which you can easily spend half a morning there."

"The host was amazing. Friendly, generous and genuinely happy to have us stay. The location of the small village of only Japanese people was amazing. Google Translate, a smile and patience was required to communicate with the locals who were all very welcoming. It was very authentic ryokan. "

"Loved the room and private bath. Beds were super comfortable as well. I would say it was like a memory foam bed. It was like the bed I have at home. Loved it. Staff was very nice as well. Breakfast was delicious as well."
