Built in the 1700s and attributed to the school of the famous architect Vanvitelli, is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the historic center of Tropea. On the vault at the entrance of the Palace there is an affresco with the family crest of the Toraldo’s. The apartment, brand new and completely renovated, is equipped with all the comforts (A/C, TV, WIFI, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, autoclave and autonomous water tank) and is furnished with sober taste. The apartment consists of two large rooms with very high ceilings furnished with the philosophy of the loft: a large area used as a kitchen and dining room, a spacious living room, a bathroom and two sleeping areas on the mezzanine that allow you to share time spent indoors without creating enclosed spaces. The apartment has a total of five beds (one double bed and three single beds). The accommodation is ideal for families with teenage children who can move independently in the central area of Tropea (ZTL) and easily reach the marina and all the main beaches without having to take the car. Although the area is very central, the apartment is very quiet and peaceful. Services: complete assistance before and during the stay; possibility of secure private parking 600 meters from the apartment; transfers to and from the airport; organization and booking of boat trips, excursions, historical-archaeological and food and wine tours. Guests can contact me at any time and for any need. I guarantee complete assistance that includes logistical, organizational and recreational aspects of the stay. I was born and grown up in Tropea but I’ve traveled a lot, even in distant countries such as Australia and New Zealand and I can help foreign guests to understand the point of view of local people. As a Calabrian in love with her own region, I have the ambition to propose unique experiences and to show the traveler the lesser known, less touristic but truer face of my land, anchored to very ancient traditions that explain aspects of our way of being and to relate to others. The center of Tropea is an architectural jewel, built on a circular cliff overlooking the sea (approx. 50 meters above sea level). Particularly fascinating is the round of buildings on the hills still there after several centuries. Several ancient staircases connect the historic center to the marina and allow you to reach the main beaches in a few minutes. To visit: the Norman Cathedral, the Diocesan Museum, the Church of Jesus, the Chapel of the Nobles, the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola with the garden. Highly recommended: walk through the alleys and openings of the historic center to admire the noble palaces and majestic granite portals. Upon arrival, guests can ask to take a tour of the historic center with me and learn about the history of this ancient city. Not to be missed: a boat trip from Tropea to Capo Vaticano to see live the beauty of the Costa degli Dei; dinner at the “da Cecè restaurant” in the charming square of Largo Toraldo Grimaldi; the food and wine tour on the Poro promontory to taste the excellent products such as' nduja, extra virgin olive oil, pecorino del Poro and cremolata. Fully stocked with everything you need, ample coffee, paper towels, plates, cups, a beach umbrella and even a beach float. This unit is nice and large and includes a great living area to be able to lounge and relax after a day in the sun before heading out for dinner. This is an old palace that has converted this area into an apartment, it’s very cool and the owner, Bernardo, was awesome. You will not find a better host from the speedy communication to all the great suggestions in and around Tropea. Bernardo set up parking for us while staying in Tropea, as parking is very hard to find, and he even helped us by having a taxi waiting for us after we parked to take us to the unit. Please note this unit is in the ZTL restricted area, so u will need to walk a bit with luggage to get to the unit or take a taxi to get closer to the door. You cannot drive in the ZTL restricted area. Our accommodations were located in the best possible place to stay in this ancient city. Convenient to absolutely everything including the train to other destinations. We made this quaint two bedroom apartment our home base for three weeks and we traveled from there around Calabria and to Sicily. Bernardo was always available when we needed him and he speaks perfect English which can really come in handly ##### Susan C. It sufficiently took care of all our needs for the 4 of us. Bernardo was an excellent host, with great communication and awesome recommendations on restraunts in town. Bernardo also arranged for his friend to pick us up from the train station and drop us at the apartment. The location is great, you are right in the heart of town and a 5minute walk to the beach. The apartment is well equipped with kitchen appliances and staples for cooking. Do yourself a favour and book this for when you next visit Tropea! ##### Samantha D. Bernardo è un host attento e premuroso che ci ha fornito preziosi consigli e piena disponibiltà. Il centro di tropea è una zona a traffico limitato ed i parcheggi sono molto pochi. The apartment is amazing with everything you need. You can’t beat the location - a few minute walk to the stairs to the beach. A lively location where we stayed out late and enjoyed eating later in the evening. The hosts were so accommodating to check-in and met us ( and also came when we locked ourselves out -oops!) the smell of the Jasmine flowers at the window was so lovely. You’ll fully enjoy your stay here and get a taste of Tropea living. ##### David W. Our hosts were very kind and responsive they and were instrumental in making our stay memorable. The location is ideal in the heart of the city and able to walk to all the necessary spots. The place was very clean and truly a place to embrace the Calabrian culture. Highly recommended. Don’t forget to try the onions and Nduja! ##### Steve P.
