Townsend is a little gem hidden in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and is known as "the peaceful side of the Smokies". This little cabin is located in a gated retreat owned by us! Our retreat consists of 4 vacation rentals plus our primary home on 7 riverfront acres. Townsend has two famous swinging bridges that cross The Little River, one of which connects directly to our property, which means you can walk right across into the heart of town! Excellent food, local craft beer, chocolate, pancakes, and art all within a short distance!! Trout fishing and tubing the river are extremely popular, and we are just 2 mi. from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and only 12 mi from the famous Cades Cove where you can get a glimpse of history and may catch some really neat wildlife while you're at it. Of course, if you wake up early enough, you may easily see an eagle or two fishing the river from the house! If everything that Townsend has to offer isn't quite enough to please everyone, we are just an easy 30 minute drive to Pigeon Forge and 45 min. to Gatlinburg with endless family entertainment. No washer/dryer on site To make a reservation, the minimum booking age is 24 years old.

The cabin was a perfect place to stay to enjoy all the beauty of the Smokey Mountains. The hosts of the property were so accommodating and made you feel so welcome. Thank you Oz and Parker.
My husband and I were very happy with our stay! The cabin is private and right on the river. We loved the fact that you could park your car and walk or ride our bikes to the restaurants and stores on the Townsend strip. The cabin is updated and just the right size for a couple wanting a romantic getaway. We will definitely stay here again!
Our stay was perfect. The cabin is super clean and has everything you need, but also has an authentic cabin feel. The location was amazing, right on the river and secluded but also easy to get to everything. There’s a swinging bridge you can walk across to get to some great restaurants, too. Would definitely come back.
Fiancé and I went to East Tennessee for a quick getaway. Very cozy little cabin right on the river. Cabin had everything we needed. After years and years of cabins in pigeon forge and gatlinburg, I think getting one like this a little away from everything is a lot nicer. Would definitely stay here again.
In addition to very responsive owners and ease of renting and checking in, the River Rock was better than we were expecting! It's a perfect location on the river, at the end of the road, very private and very easy access to town and the Smokies. The owners were responsive to every need and have a "gracious host" mentality! We will definitely try to book this one again!
This property was exactly as described. I loved all the extra touches; beach towels, hand soap; basic spices … just to name a few. It was so peaceful, we were able to enjoy the outdoors. The porch was wonderful to sit , have coffee and enjoy the river. It is very private. It was comfortable. We will be back for sure!
The location was amazing and Oz couldn't have been nicer! Sleeper sofa appeared brand new and was super comfortable. We were able to cook basic meals daily in the kitchen but there are great restaurants in walking distance and anything else you might need within 5-10min drive. We spent most of our time here visiting SMNP but also enjoyed many local attractions as well. River access was amazing to swim/fish. This place has it all!
Our two night stay was perfect! The property is exactly as listed, was clean, and easy to find/easy to check in. The location is the best part--at the end of a quiet road right on the river. Sure, there are other properties around, but it didn't interfere with the serene vibes at all. The firepit setup was so lovely, so definitely stop and buy some wood on the way. I hope to stay here again in the future!
A great on-the-spur trip to Townsend to get away from the heat of West TN. We found the cabin with no problems because of the detailed instructions. The setting was perfect and the cabin was comfortable and clean (would have preferred a regular coffee maker though). The best part was sitting on the porch watching the Little River roll by - a pleasant few days.

Little River(front) Cabin in Townsend
Absolutely great location near the footbridge and near check-in for tubing at River Rat!
Host was unresponsive to any of my messages, and sent the wrong address and access code for our rental via email regarding check in, I subsequently realized that the message sent via VRBO app and the email sent to me had completely different information.
Will not be staying there again.
The River Rock cabin was perfect for our week long stay in Tennessee. The cabin was in a great location for all we wanted to do. It’s at the end of a private dead end drive so there was no traffic at all. Just a short walk down the driveway gets you to a footbridge over the river and right into town. Having the river right there at your doorstep was a great way to cool off after hiking and exploring the park. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed for stress free vacation. I would highly recommended it especially if you prefer a slower pace to the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Areas.
This cabin was absolutely perfect. The location was wonderful, the furniture was comfortable, the deck was well taken care of (and didn't leak at all even during a very heavy rainfall), water pressure and heat in the shower was great, and the jacuzzi was awesome. The view of the river is amazing and we spent most of our time on the deck. It was too early for there to be any fish to catch, but we gave it a try and the rocks were a great location for it. The property has peacocks and goats, but we also saw lizards and even a family of river otters on our last day! Even though the cabin is right off a main thoroughfare and you can hear traffic, it's mostly a white noise you don't notice and you hear all the birds and the wind in the trees and you still feel like you're in a remote area. We walked across the bridge on Thursday for trivia at the Abbey which was so much fun and the walkability was such a great bonus. My only suggestion is it would be nice to have a guest book, it was the only thing missing. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts Parker and Oz!
River Rock is the perfect getaway you never knew you needed. Sitting right on the banks of the Little River, it was the perfect destination for us. We had a wedding to attend in Knoxville but wanted to make it into a long wkend escape. The cabin is an easy 45 minute drive to downtown Knoxville but a world away from it.
Cade’s Cove is 20 minutes away and hiking Spruce Flat Falls (and a number of other trails) is a short 10 minute drive. We did Cade’s Cove and saw lots of bears, deer, and turkeys, and the waterfall at Spruce Flat Falls is quite the reward after the climb.
The cabin itself is exactly as listed, with the exception of a different sofa and different bedding. It is small & quaint, with the perfect amount of coziness, is immaculately clean, and had a well-stocked kitchen. We loved our mornings & late nights sitting on the deck and in the hot tub. Hearing the birds chirping, being entertained by the geese, and watching the rippling water is something we shall not soon forget. Take a walk over the bridge to The Abbey, the locals’ undisputed favorite restaurant.
The hosts live on the property, and although we never saw them, Parker was quick to respond whenever we reached out. Check-in and out were convenient, love the simple process.
River Rock is a true gem.
We had a wonderful stay. The river was amazing with easy access. The owners goats came to visit one evening and it was amazing to watch and interact with them. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We hope to be able to stay there again.
Cabin was exactly as listed and shown. Enjoyed the quaintness and privacy. The access to the river was perfect for fishing and pictures. The cabin was clean and well stocked with toiletry needs, cooking utilities, and even games. The hot tub was heated and clean. The owners were very helpful with directions to the property and help recommending a place for dinner. We would definitely stay again
The cabin was the perfect getaway for our long fishing weekend. Though cozy and basic, it was just the right size for two. The shower had plentiful hot water and great pressure, and the mattress was extremely comfortable. We loved the view on the Little River and my son spent a bit of time fishing it as well (though we spent most of our fishing efforts in the national park). We adored Townsend in general - quaint, quiet, and has everything one needs. The location to the National Park entrance cannot be beat. We will definitely return!
