We were only a few steps from Tip Top Coffee, Farm Up Table, the Purple Fiddle, and all the other wonderful shops on the main drag. The home itself is quaint and the hosts made sure it was clean. It does sit right alongside Rte 32\. A lot of the traffic fails to recognize the 25 mph speed limit through town and there are some loud trucks moving through. It's not at all bothersome, but we did need to use earplugs to sleep through the night uninterrupted. We will definitely be staying here again. Willing to work with us on checking in early and fix numerous problems with the unit. The Good The kitchen was fully stocked the every kind of pot pan and dish. The Bad. The unit was undergoing a pretty big cosmetic renovation. Painting and ongoing repairs were everywhere. There was a layer of dust and dirt on all the windows and TV. The main bed was literally falling apart and had to have someone come in and fix it. Even after that it was a horrible bed. The only couch seemed like a Facebook marketplace leftover and was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The Ugly. To add insult to injury the front door was 20 feet from a major road that had semi trucks / dump trucks / local traffic running all day and night. Never got a good nights sleep. It was the perfect location to explore the surrounding areas of Davis, Blackwater Falls, Seneca Rocks, Canaan Valley, and Dolly Sods. The house was perfectly located with parking in front, and we could walk to all the shops and restaurants in the town of Thomas. Definitely would recommend this one and it is guest friendly & accomodating! The street can be quite busy but it was a holiday weekend. We absolutely loved the home's proximity to trails, including those at Blackwater Falls State park. The home was just what we needed - cozy and centrally located.
