When we arrived it was clear the cottage had not been cleaned. The previous occupants' dirty sheets and towels were piled up and there were no clean sheets or pillowcases for the bed. The kitchen was dirty and there was damp and peeling wallpaper.
It was not possible to contact the owner straight away and after a couple of hours we were told the owner could not send a cleaner until the following day. Since there was nowhere clean to sleep we left and went home
