Tegernsee Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery in the town and district of Tegernsee in Bavaria. Both the abbey and the town that grew up around it, are named after the Tegernsee, the lake on the shores of which they are located.

Tegernsee Abbey, officially known as St. Quirinus Abbey for its patron saint St. Quirinus, was first built in the 8th century. Until 1803, it was the most important Benedictine community in Bavaria.

Today, the monastery buildings are known as Schloss Tegernsee and are in the possession of the Wittelsbach family.

"Wir waren zu viert in der Blockhütte, die sehr gut ausgestattet ist. Unsere Gastgeberin hat uns netterweise mit dem Auto vom Bahnhof abgeholt. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit, die Umgebung und Lage der Hütte sind traumhaft. In der Hütte liegen viele Informationen für Ausflüge in der Umgebung aus. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen und kommen hoffentlich bald wieder. "Der Aufenthalt in der sehr gemütliche eingerichtetet Ferienwohnung war sehr schön. Die Zimmer waren sehr ordentlich, ie Vermieterin sehr freundlich. Ein richtiger Herd mit mehreren Platten wäre vielleicht ganz gut, so ist nur eine verlängerte Ofenplatte vergügbar. Ein Edekageschäft und mehrere Bäcker sind in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Alles in allem war es eine sehr schöne Zeit im Blockhaus Alchemilla."

"The Alpen Chalets were very good - clean, lot of space for 3 adults. Service was great in the Restaurant Senger and the food was delicious. We had breakfast and dinner in Restaurant Senger for nearly 5 days and we liked the food. Spa with massages is also very good. In general excellent experience. This was our 3rd visit during Christmas times and we like it here."

"Very nice hotel. What made this a 5 star rating is the gentleman working the front desk at 0500. I was uncomfortable walking to the train station which is about a ten min walk, at that hour. I went to the ground floor to leave and there was a man standing outside the door looking very interested in getting in the hotel. I went back to the reception desk. I told the gentleman what I saw and that I wasn’t comfortable walking with luggage to the station. He checked the security camera and saw what I was talking about and immediately called a taxi. He then escorted me to the car and stayed until I was inside the taxi. Please send along my appreciation and thanks. Yeah, the cab was €10 but it was money well spent. "

"We had a great experience here. We utilized the train system and its within walking distance to the hotel. Roughly around 10 min walk. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful I. Giving recommendations on where to eat and shop. That area, is also walking distance from the hotel. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices and was delicious. "
