Guide de voyage
This is the view from Sunrise Itoyama, a cycling facility equipped with retal bikes, hostel, public bath and even a cafe. Many people who cycle across the Shimanami Kaido use this spot to rest and refuel. Isn't the view fantastic?
View from Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge, part of Shimanami-kaido that connects Onomichi (Hiroshima prefecture) with Imabari (Ehime prefecture). Many people ride bikes across these bridges and explore the little islands in between.
Hatsu-hinode, the tradition of waking up early on New Years Day to watch the first sunrise of the year, is still popular in Japan. Some climb mountains, others go to the shore, or people in the city watch from their balconies or from towers. If you are in the Imabari area, Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge is the perfect spot to watch the sunrise above the Seto Inland Sea.
Under the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge, which leads you to Onomichi in Hiroshima from Imabari. It's a great path for cycling, with amazing views of the Seto Inland Sea.
