We are one of 52 groups that monitor the beaches of Florida for turtle nests. On the west coast of Southwest Florida most of the turtles nesting are Loggerheads. They may lay three or four times during the season. Each nest may contain over 100 eggs which hatch in 45 days. There is a trail through the forested area of the park, but the best part is along the beach.
