Island favorite in the process of a facelift

Bluebeards has been around for a long, long time, settled on the mountainside overlooking Charlotte Amalie, and that view is not going away. The hotel itself is showing its age, but the owners are in the process of renovating the whole place. Still, even with the work only partly done it remains a great place to stay while visiting St. Thomas.

The hotel has a great view , staff very helpfull , food in the pool bar excellent. We stay on a condo room and was great with a nice view to frenchtown.

You can do better.

Given the fact that they are currently GIVING AWAY timeshares, I think that says it all. Discourteous front desk staff, moldy smelling rooms, rare housecleaning, and very, very steep for any folks with accessibility problems. Poolside cafe staff was very nice though.

Great location near city

Great place to stay in St Thomas, and easily walkable to Charlotte Amalie. Beautiful view of the city from our room. The pool is refreshing and relaxing. The poolside bar has great service and drinks! Our room was very comfortable. I loved the patio, where I started and ended every day.

A secret gem

I stayed at the Bluebeards Castle Villas hilltop 1 with my two boys ages 22 and 16. We arrived on Friday May 26. The staff was very friendly and the check in process went smoothly. The hotel itself is located on a hill, so there's a lot of walking involved. Transportation was usually waiting right out front. It's a time share so the rooms are cleaned once a week. They have a pool side restaurant with decent prices, however it closes by 5 pm. The conceirge lady was not very helpful and seemed like she just wanted to make a commission. Food is very expensive at the other two restaurants on site. We ate at the Cabana Grill and ate from the happy hour selection. I highly recommend Coci Beach. The water at Coci Beach is beautiful and they pass out free samples of rum smoothies. The hotel over looks the pier and you'll get to see the cruise ships coming in on mondays and Tuesday's. The property is clean and well kept. There is s store on site where you can buy snacks, however it is very expensive.

Overall it was great experience. I enjoyed the living facility and pool. My only problem was that they had a hot stove and not an actual stove, but perhaps trust was a detail I overlooked when booking

Nice property close to the beach and restaurants

We had a great 5 day stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool bar and all 3 restaurants. We took taxis to the beach.

best one-night stay ever!

Only had one nite here. Left for BVIs in the morning by ferry, they allowed us early check-in. As our room was ready,. Great views from everywhere, clean, friendly staff. Would definitely return.

the pull out couch mattress had no sheets on it and it was rather old. My co-worker and i ended up sleeping in the same bed because it was not somewhere either of us wanted to sleep. The shower was not extremely clean either.

Check In time is at 4 pm and not at 3 as Expedia indicates on the reservation. Very inconvenient when you arrive to the hotel at 2:30 pm and they would not allow for an early check in. My room 175 at the en of the corridor took for ever to get hot water. They need recirculating pumps in the system. The fridge was very noise.

Other than the confusion of if we were changing rooms part way or not and on what day, it was awesome! Excellent view, easy location, I will definately stay again.

Dirty

The room had a nice size BUT there were cockroaches in the bathtub the first day. Other than that the rooms are not done unless you are staying 3+ days and the taxi drivers from the hotel are VERY rude and overcharge for every single trip to the town. If you are ready to deal with dirty rooms, unfriendly staff and the added agrevation while dealing with the taxi drivers stay here.

St. Thomas Blue Beard's Castle Resort March 2017

The last 2 days great, had the room I ordered. The first 3 nights was placed in an old room , not the studio suite. No discount from the hotel. Late night check in very poor. Day staff are great. Also, you should only stay here if you arrive on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, or else you will be moved mid trip. The staff cared for the move very well; including our fridge items. Views and location are great. The pool is great. Has some of the best restaurants on St. Thomas - very convenient and at several price points & shop onsite. Overall, 3.5 rating. Last 2 days = 5, first 3 - 2.5 because of the room mix-up and lack of customer service to provide any discount for their error. The studio suite I ordered and had the last 2 days met all expectations. Also, it's a time share so many returning and friendly guests. Grounds are very well kept and it's very secure.
