Historic Recording Studio | Walk to Old Town
This property is a real taste of the old city with a musical twist. This is the original site of the legendary FishTank Recordings previously owned by the multi-award-winning songwriter, musician, and music producer Lucio Rubino. The studio retains its original layout with floating floor systems studio glass, and walls specifically shaped for sound isolation. The decor includes original art, playable instruments and framed articles of Rubino. If you're into unique stays with a little artistic flare this is the place for you. It's a short walk to the coolest places in town and the trolley tour stop is just across the street. Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We enjoyed our stay, the place was clean and had everything we needed during our stay. It was also very well located only a few minutes away from the city center. Greg was very responsive and friendly and would definitely stay again if we have the opportunity.
We loved the house and the fenced yard for our dog. It was also perfectly located. We could walk anywhere and either direction was either a marina or lovely houses with beautiful architecture.
The recording studio was a great place to stay, and we'll try to stay here again when we come back to St. Augustine. Greg (the host) was excellent about communicating, check-in and check-out were easy, the location was good, and the studio itself was clean, comfortable, interesting, and stylishly decorated. My one suggestion would be to update the amenities listing: Expedia says the studio includes laundry facilities, but when we checked in we found a sign saying that the washer/dryer were for housekeeping use only (not for guests). It turned out to be no problem for us, but it could have been if we'd packed/planned differently.
It is an unique space. It feels like being a musical museum. It is really convenient to walk to Downtown and to grab some foods and drinks. My husband and I love it and will be back when we are in St. Augustine.
I absolutely loved this place!! I will definitely be staying here as much as I can. Greg was amazing to interact with, the neighborhood is amazing and it’s a short walk to downtown St. Aug.
This studio was just right in every sense, especially how clean it was. The indoor space allowed privacy and having parking onsite for up to 3 was surprising. The convenience of walking can not be overstated - literally within 15 min. of nearly everything we did. Greg is a top notch host - gracious and welcoming.
We had a wonderful stay at Greg’s Historic Recording Studio. The place is seriously cool and has such a fun, unique vibe. If you love music, great decor, and a stay with personality, this place rocks! We especially loved the jukebox, the instruments, the artwork, and all the thoughtful touches throughout the home. It felt comfortable, creative, and unlike anywhere else we’ve stayed. We were also so grateful we could bring our dog, PJ, which made the getaway even more special. The location was fantastic, close to so many great spots in St. Augustine. Greg was a great host, and we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable, music-filled, and pet-friendly stay.
Super fun rental! If you are looking for not your average rental this is it! The history of the property is cool! We met the host and he was very nice and had lots of recommendations for the area. Very close to everything on foot.
