It is an Econo Lodge. Before I explain each negative issue I want to highly commend the manager on the property. The ONLY person I ever saw on the property for Econo Inn. He stepped up on every issue, did his best to resolve them. The only company person when we arrived and they only one we ever saw on the property in our 3 day stay. He was cleaning another room down the hall because "his cleaning person called out". The room it was dirty and smelled of smoke, dirty corner walls in the bathroom. Refrigerator dirty. The TV wouldn't start - Employee found wifi unplugged and another switch turned off. Went to take shower only to find it didnt work. After tugging on the handle hard it got unstuck. The room numbers are all taped w duct tape or another tape. :( :( :( The next A.M. as we're leaving we found that the door bolt lock was not working and the key card had stopped working too. The same man on duty came down again leaving the desk unattended, I know because another client came to ask him if there was anyone to check him out, as he was re-screwing the plate on the door thinking this was the door issue. He said some painter had just put the doors back up. After he returned to our room since the re-screwing of the plate did not fix the issue he said I thinks he just need to file the lock mechanism down a little. He returned with the filing done. 30 min after we had tried to leave for the day. The room was dirty, pull out mattress was falling apart, this used to be where we would always stay when visiting family, however this was our last time. This property should be closed down. I tried to get the reservation cancel but could not . There was DRIED BLOOD on the floor and not just spots of blood but a 5"x15" length that we cleaned before realizing it was blood, roaches, dirty floors and the toilet broke during the night. They changed the name from Eco Lodge to Stonewood but it is still nasty hotel. The lobby has no AC and one employee that was present sometime. Expedia should ban this property from their website. The most serious concern was a clear safety hazard: exposed wiring and an active ceiling leak in a main hallway, with an overflowing bucket catching water below it (see photo). This alone should raise red flags for anyone considering a stay here. The issues didn’t stop there. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable—stiff and springy, like sleeping on plywood. The only access to the second floor was via a stairway that was visibly dirty and poorly maintained. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was subpar, with a noticeable musty and smoky odor throughout the building, including in the room itself. In-room amenities were no better. The hair dryer didn’t work (though a replacement was eventually provided), the towels were threadbare and barely absorbent, and the refrigerator was full of condensation with standing water inside—unable to keep even bottled water cool. As for the lobby, the coffee was cold and stale, and the powdered creamer clumped up due to the temperature—making it undrinkable. This hotel appears to be in rapid decline and is in desperate need of serious maintenance, cleaning, and upgrades. I would not recommend staying here until these major issues are addressed. The hotel did not have my booking through Expedia, but fortunately I had the reservation saved on my phone.
