In addition to this for higher health security reasons we decided to leave all our apartments free for at least 48 hours between all stays and also to treat them 2 days before any arrival with our new Ozone Generator which is 99% proven to inactivate any eventual kind of bacteria and viruses. OUR PROPERTY Blue Ocean Cottage design has been conceived to offer our guest a big and brighter open space and also to let them enjoy the very pleasant oceanic breeze constantly present in this part of the island. Blue Ocean Cottage is located in Silver Sands area in the South of the island of Barbados and it is formed by 7 different apartments of different dimensions and positions. All of them are with dining / living / kitchen area fully furnished, bedrooms and private bathrooms. The entire area is surrounded by a wonderful garden rich of Palm and Banano trees, vegetation and flowers; it has a fence around the property and security video cameras. At the ground floor in the back side of the property there is also an external shower and a big sink. In front of the property there is also a big parking area. All the Apartments are next to the stunning Silver Sands Beach at the southern tip of the beautiful tropical island of Barbados. Being the easternmost of the windward Caribbean islands, the tropical heat is always tempered by the constant gentle north-easterly Trade Winds, cutting down on mosquitos and making Silver Sands one of the best spots in the world for windsurfing and kite surfing. Blue Ocean Cottage provides a unique combination of fun and relaxation: suffused by the immediate beauty, peace and tranquillity of a palm-fringed paradise; yet close to the buzz and excitement of great clubs and restaurants at nearby St. Lawrence Gap. Blue Ocean Villa, Yellow Bird Apartment, White Coconut Studio, Sea-view Apartment and Green Garden Apartment are perfect for wind/kite/body surfers who want to enjoy world-class surfing at Silver Sands beach or Silver Rock beach; lovers who want to laze on tiny unspoilt coral white sandy beach; anyone wanting to de-stress and get fit. Local wind and Kitesurfing Informations: This island is a windsurfer's and kite surfer’s mecca. It’s one of the best windsurfing spots of the world. East and North-east winds are constant during the entire year and with them they bring great waves for jumping or riding them with a kite or windsurf board. The incredible spot’s number aloud all levels of wind-kite surfers to enjoy this magic place. South Coast is better for experts, professionals and people who are starting to move on the reef. West coast is better for beginners. The water temperature is unbelievable, 26°/28° C warm and constant all year round. During the period of November and June the Trade winds start to blow constantly and between December and April the conditions are absolutely perfect with a very high percentage of strong and constant winds mostly in January and February. It is exposed to the East/North-East and it gets pleasure from a constant breeze; it’s also very quite and it’s facing on the wild garden rich of coconut palms and banana trees. There is a living/kitchen area with all the necessary comforts, a double queen sofa-bed which can be used for 2 people and a comfortable and fresh double bed-room with a bath with shower. Yellow Bird, Blue Ocean Cottage and White Coconut are located at the first floor and they have interconnecting-doors. On Request a child cot up to 5 years. Free High Speed Wireless Internet connection available & snorkelling. Due to the high cost of energy on the island Air Conditioned is available in the bedroom with an independent split, at 10 USD supplement per night (max 12 hours) or 15 USD (24 hours) and you can decide to take it also on the spot. We are located 220 meters far from Silver Sands beach and 520 meters from Silver Rock/Point beach. The Rescue beach is 180 meters far from us and we are also 70 meters from Surfer's Bay which is Bar and Restaurant and also 70 meters far from the sea water. We are 10 minutes far by car from Oistins (where there are the famous Fish Market, shops, markets, banks etc.) and 15 from San Lawrence Gap where the great night life is, with also good restaurants, bars and shops. We have the nearest bus-stop at around 300 meters far from the apartments and a 24 hours/day taxi service. There are also 2 small shops/groceries just few minutes by walk. The Airport is just 10 minutes far from us by car. We can reserve also a transfer from the airport (the cost is 15 USD per 1/3 people) and car rentals too. Other Activities: Windsurf, Kitesurf, Surf, Sup, Snorkeling, boogie boarding, fishing and many others. The location is a great spot to just unwind and relax being able to sit outside with an ocean view is superb. The room was well kept, clean and ready to accept us as guests. Moreover, the host was nothing short of being spectacular. Before our arrival, Stefano reached out to be sure that we had transportation to and from the airport but even more, he went above and beyond during some of the most challenging moments during our visit. Stefano helped us with fixing a flat tire (providing usable tools to fix the flat) and help us to navigate options when airspace restrictions were suddenly placed in the Eastern Caribbean which resulted in our flight being cancelled. Stefano's hospitality, humility and kind nature, made the stay at Yellow Bird fantastic...even in the most trying times! ##### Ryan B. The apartment was clean, kitchen well stocked, beautiful ocean view and our gracious hosts made the stay excellent. The location is less than a 5 minute drive to Freights Bay and about an 8 minute drive to Oistins town. We enjoyed being a bit secluded and away from noisier parts of town. The apartment was clean and comfortable and safe was as described on the listing. Stefano was very helpful and informative about what to do in Barbados. As it was our first visit to the island we enjoyed using the local bus service for a few days to get along the South Coast and into Bridgetown. The bus stop was a short walk away and the buses were frequent and fun. The Surfers Bay Bar was less than a 5 minute walk, it had a friendly atmosphere and good meals. The beaches in the area are not for swimming but good for wind and kite surfing. Stefano kindly organised a taxi for us to and from the airport and he also sorted out a hire car for our last few days. This gave us a chance to explore the rest of the island. We enjoyed our stay in Barbados and would recommend staying at Blue Ocean cottages, especially if you enjoy surfing in any of its forms. Upon arriving at the airport there was transportation waiting to take us to the apartment, then the rental car we wanted was delivered right to us. That alone made the transition to a new country so much easier and enjoyable. The apartment was everything that Stefano and Elizabetta had said. It was spacious and clean. We had a 10 day stay and our linens were changed every 5 days and our towels were changed ever three days. The apartment was on the top floor and our view from the deck was gorgeous, could see and hear the ocean. There is a very nice almost private beach within a 3 minute walk. There is also a great open air bar called Surfers Bay which is also a 3 minute walk. Great way to end the day after being at the beach. The island itself is very easy to get around (once you can navigate the streets) and the people are very friendly and the food is out of this world. The fish market on Friday is a very happening place to be! I would recommend this place to whomever, our next visit to Barbados we will be staying there again.
