So close to the beach, just one house back from the beach, you can see the ocean from the main suite balcony. When you walk to the beach, you just walk out the side of the house and past the house in front, you do not have the cross traffic, this house sits on a side road that dead ends directly on the beach. It's an easy walk to "the village" for restaurants. The house sits on a corner so its easy to walk out the front and head to the village, or the side and head to the beach. The owners take really good care of the house. It seems as though everything down stairs is brand new since hurricane Milton and Helen (we stayed May 2025). This house is solid concrete and not going anywhere in a storm. The floor plan is very open. The bedrooms, bathrooms and closets are very large. The only issue was the new construction behind the property which was not reflected on the listing pictures. Unfortunately, the view from the bedrooms was completely blocked by the new building going up. Our wives also couldn't use the pool during the day because the workers were very close and could see into our pool area. We also couldn't sleep in since construction started around 7:30am. Nail guns, air compressors, vehicle backing up beepers, yelling, talking, music, hammers pounding and a lot of sawing/cutting. The three story house being built is so close you could flip a quarter from the pool and hit it. Views of new house are right into the pool area so you get no privacy all day long. I have reached out to the property management firm multiple times and “waiting to hear from a manager” is the message I keep receiving. Easy and very short walk to the beach or the restaurants & shops. The house is very spacious, comfortable, and included everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Yes, there is construction going on just a few feet away from the property. They start early. It's loud – power tools, guys yelling, loud music. You're probably not going to want to hang out in the pool during the day because the construction will be going on literally right over your head. There were also some technical challenges when reserving and when we first arrived. The email address that was provided by the property management company to send photos of ID and credit card didn't work (bounced back after trying to send). I already didn't feel great about sending this info via email, but I understand it from a property owner's standpoint. I ended up having to call them and was given a different email to send the pics to. Apparently they're having some issues with consolidating new property management companies or something. The night we arrived at the property (after 10pm), the door code that I had received via email didn't work. Ended up calling again to get a new code. Jul 20, 2022 Liked: Check-in, location Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, listing accuracy #### Not the luxury we expected Selected because of the location, beautiful pool and outdoor space in the pics. We have been using VRBO for years and this is our first negative experience and first negative review on any site. The positives, the house is beautiful and nicely decorated. The area and location are great, near the beach and village. While I understand construction is uncontrollable, the pics need to be updated ASAP. The small blue house between this house and the beach is being replaced by a large multi-story building. It was an active construction zone from 7:00am to 5:30pm. The sounds of heavy equipment and smell of generators were bad enough but having workers hovering over the pool wall ogling at our daughters made the outdoor space unusable. Also unusable, the terraces which face that direction, plus bedroom blinds stayed closed. When we arrived, the rooftop deck had scattered beer cans and the MBR terrace a chunk of pizza cheese which I cleaned up. Seeing a mess around the pool, including bottles, champagne tops, more pizza and toppings, I texted the agency as instructed. They sent someone the next day who didn’t do a very good job, leaving behind pizza toppings, grill cover half on and a pizza box on the front lawn. I texted again, and they offered to have someone come the next day so I could show them, well I wasn’t going to waste my time, so we cleaned it ourselves. All trash cans were jammed full of unbagged food that was attracting flies. I was told that collection was Wed and Fri. Other houses had cans at the street so I moved a couple out so we would have some space. Not sure if this was my job, because on Friday the other cans were at the curb. After complaining and asking for a partial refund, we were granted a small discount, of 10% of our total week's bill. My expectation was a 20% discount taking into consideration not being able to use the outdoor space and the mess. After check out, I was told the inspector said the stroller was missing and I was being charged. After explaining we didn’t see a stroller, had no use for one and that the inspector, who also inspects the exterior, must not be doing a very good job, we were charged anyway. After disputing this with our credit card, it was reversed. I did call back to negotiate a more suitable discount, after waiting days for callbacks, it was denied. Sorry but the view and lack of outdoor privacy, plus the outdoor mess was inexcusable for the price of a so called luxury rental. ##### Peter C.
