So many of Cape York’s waterways are home to crocodiles, which makes a swim at Fruit Bat Falls all the more special. The falls are a 2.7km drive down a sandy track from the Bamaga Bypass Road and the Old Telegraph Track. After having 30-second showers while bush camping for the last few days, a swim here was heaven! The road to the falls is best suited to 4WDs (as are most of the roads on the Cape York Peninsula). If it’s busy, finding parking for a van or trailer might be difficult. The falls are very popular. There are toilets here, but no picnic facilities. The site is for day use only. Eliot Falls and Twin Falls are further down the Old Telegraph Track, but there is a particularly challenging creek crossing on the way. GPS coordinates: 11.26.24S 142.26.2.42E

The sunset from Bramwell Station was beautiful and made a change from watching it over a beach while travelling around Queensland. Bramwell is a working station, but also has a tourist part with camp sites and accommodation. Happy hour, a good meal and live entertainment certainly made a change from the bush camping we'd been doing. You can reach Cape York in about half a day from here so it's a good stopping place on the way up, or down.

L’hébergement est très bien situé. Nous avons pu faire beaucoup à pieds avec 2 jeunes enfants. Par contre, la propreté laisse à désirer. La chambre était très sale à notre arrivée : amas de cheveux dans la douche, poussière, bouteille et détritus sous le lit… Le frizzer du frigo était complètement ...

Caution débitée de la carte bancaire au Check in
Le séjour de ma fille s est bien passé MAIS ils lui ont débité 200 aus dollars sur sa carte bancaire comme caution. Une semaine après l’argent n a pas été recredité. C est la première fois qu un hôtel me fait un débit effectif en caution. Aucune réponse de l’hôtel
