You are literally 2 turns and 6 miles (only 10 minutes) from the Shagbark guard gate to the main parkway in Pigeon Forge and you come out at light #3 which is Wears Valley Rd., right in the middle of everything in Pigeon Forge! Something Great about the Shagbark Resort is all of the cabins are on at least 1/2 acre lots, so they are not stacked on top of each other like some resorts are! Although it looks like a two story cabin it is not! All of the rooms are located on one level, so there are no stairs to climb, just one step up to the deck, and it is blacktop all the way to the cabin. The bottom level you see is just a very small locked storage space. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only suggestion we have is for guests to be able (and informed how) to turn off the driveway lights. Although there are blinds in the window, they arent enough to block out the light of those lights ...the bedroom glows. Other than that, it was a beautiful place that we recommend. ##### Tera M. Arcade was a fun touch! Hot tub was perfect for cool evenings. AC & heat worked great! Host sent very detailed info prior to stay & was very responsive. Got to see a few bears on the property. Be prepared to drive mountain roads (a little scary). I had never done that before. If you plan to visit the fishing pond, bring live worms & a cork with your pole. It was clean, it was comfortable, and looked exactly like the pictures! The hot tub was amazing. We’re picky about beds when we stay somewhere, and the bed didn’t disappoint either! The pullout in the couch was ok, it’s a pull out so a little uncomfortable, but not horrible. Rod and Julie were super communicative and nice. Check in and out was a breeze. My daughters had a blast on the arcade game and played it all night. They loved the swimming pool and especially the hot tub (so did us adults). It was so convenient for us to have the grill and accessories in the kitchen that everyone dreads dragging on vacation.
