It is surrounded by a concrete pool deck and comfortable lounge furniture. There is a railing to help guests enter into the shallow end and plenty of room for everybody to splash and play, no matter the season! This is a private indoor pool meaning it is only accessible to our guests. The hosts supplied us with plenty of beginning paper towels, toilet paper etc. The area was quiet and peaceful. Not to far away from activities yet we felt secluded. Enjoyed sitting on the porch swing! Swimming pool was a good size and even included some toys for the kids. The game room was enjoyable, plenty to do!! We had 7 adults and 7 kids and we all had a blast...we adults never wanted to leave as we soooo enjoyed relaxing on the many porches. We even saw a bear one evening!! This house was absolutely perfect for our needs! We are an older couple (in our sixties) trying to pull together our three sons , nephew, and their significant others (35-40 year olds) that are spread around the country ( Texas, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Florida). The environment was perfect for us! The giant open living area on the main floor is where we gathered every evening, to share dinner, our experiences for the day; reconnect, and rediscover our family bonds. Charlotte was fantastic at communicating with us the whole time! They are very thoughtful from not only accommodating for the adults but for the kids as well from different age range toys, books, plates, cups & utensils . They also had things prepared for our dog like bowls and a bed. This place is so gorgeous and would stay again! The rooms are much bigger in person. The house is so cozy and perfect for that family mountain getaway. This house has everything and is particularly good for children! Hot tub, indoor pool and lots of games (pool table, air hockey, arcade video games and more.) Our 7 grandchildren never got bored during our 5 day stay. The home theater was a huge hit with the kids and adults as well. The property owner was very responsive whenever we had a need to reach out to her. The cabin is situated in a very nice community close to town, yet remote enough so it stays peacefully quiet all the time. It was very clean and the decor was beautiful without having knick knacks all around to worry about kids breaking. The basement has a door and the stair to the 2nd floor have a retractable baby gate so no fear of littles falling. There was a high chair, walker, and playpen available for use. The laundry room had everything you could have needed. It was great to have everything available. This is the 5th cabin we have stayed in and sometimes it's the little attention to detail that means the most. Simple things like having a broom available for use can make the difference between frustration and vacation. The host was great and easy to reach if there was any issue. ##### Willow C. My family and I loved everything about it, Pictures does not do it justice, we had plenty of room for everyone and not feeling crowded, the view is gorgeous, the wrap around porch is great, screened in porch was awesome, hot tub, pool room even pool towels to use , game room and plenty board games , theater room has all brand new seats, all awesome and everyone enjoyed much needed family time. Kitchen very well stocked with everything you need to cook , and plenty towels for everyone, very peaceful and quiet, so much details put in to the wood work of the home and even the porch swings its just beautiful and beautifully made . One of my favorites it the sign above the door of the master bedroom door and the bay windows . Check out the country store Whaley if your in the area .. Communication with Charlotte was awesome and she was so nice, very responsive and made sure everything was going good and that our stay was perfect. Wow what a beautiful cabin, very clean, well maintained and spacious with plenty of space for everyone! Hosts are the best, they made sure we checked in fine and had everything we needed during our stay! You can tell they go the extra mile for their guests. The cabin itself is gorgeous and beautifully decorated. Beds are very comfy and kitchen well stocked. There are so many amenities in this cabin to choose from: a stunning private indoor heated pool, a very cool theater room with comfy reclining chairs, a large game room with a pool table, arcade games, air hockey and foosball, a hot tub. There is also a kids room with lots of cute toys for the little kids. The cabin is located within a very nice resort that has a big swimming pool, a fire pit area and a kids playground. There is also a catch and release pond right in front of the property where you can fish. What I enjoyed the most was drinking my coffee and soaking up in the hot tub looking at the mountains. The views from the cabin are beautiful and it feels very private and secluded while very close to the main attractions! Just a 15 min ride to Pigeon Forge, 25 min to Dollywood, 10min to the supermarket. I loved it and cannot wait to be back with my family! ##### Clémentine T. PROs: The space was great for our family. Perfect sized kitchen and dining space. We played a lot of evening cards at the long table. 55 mins to Cades Cove to see wildlife...but we were lucky enough to see bears 3 different times right in the resort. Had to drive around a little and look but was more successful and fun than Cades Cove. Everything: TVs, games, hot tub, pool, etc worked and maintained. Air hocky was a little rickety. PETS: there is a side yard (30'x15') outside the bottom floor (requires use of stairs, but quiet and secluded to take pets out). Location way better than it seemed on the map. Kroger 7 miles away. Pidgeon Forge attractions 8 miles. HOST: we reached out 2x and we answered in hours. We had no issues while there. Driveway and roads might be a concern in snow/ice. If you are looking for a cabin that has a ton of stuff to do on site and a good location, this is it. It is a cabin so the outside grounds are the woods. The inside was not "new" but clean and like visiting friends or neighbors...showed a little wear, but was nice. I'm sure the host will continue to maintain and upgrade it. She was very receptive to feedback. I liked renting from someone that seems like a real person and not a corp. We had a great time with our parents and adult children visiting from CA. May 30, 2025 Liked: Check-in, communication, location #### Large Family Black Bear Hideaway Review Our group recently stayed at this cabin in the Smoky Mountains and overall had a good time, though there were definitely some areas for improvement.Pros:The cabin itself is spacious and well-laid out, making it ideal for a large party or family gathering. The surrounding community is beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of amenities including nature trails, a playground, and both indoor and outdoor pools — a great setting for outdoor enthusiasts and families with kids.Cons:Unfortunately, the cabin was not clean upon arrival, which was disappointing. However, to the host’s credit, they were very responsive and quickly sent out a cleaning service to address the issue. We also experienced an unpleasant sewage smell and drainage problems in the bathrooms during our stay.The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, making restful sleep difficult, and the newly built bunk beds had nails protruding, which was a safety concern. Additionally, the outdoor areas were not well maintained — the paths around the property were uneven and potentially hazardous, especially for small children and older adults.Lastly, the grill provided was not functional. We ended up purchasing a charcoal grill ourselves and left it behind for future guests to enjoy.Final Thoughts:This property has a lot of potential. Overall we made lasting memories on subpar sleep.
