The property is dog-friendly and child-friendly, making it suitable for families, couples travelling together or small groups who want separate living spaces while still sharing outdoor areas. The garden is sheltered by a large natural rock, characteristic of local villages, which is covered in wild flowers and provides privacy and a unique atmosphere. The property is also only a couple of minutes walk to 2 restaurants, a cafe/bar and a local food shop. Both apartments are renovated in a traditional Tuscan style, simply but comfortably furnished, and set up to give guests flexibility with two kitchens, two dining areas and two living rooms. The garden includes mature olive trees, rosemary bushes and several outdoor seating and dining areas. The pool uses darker tiles which help maintain a slightly warmer temperature than standard tiled pools. An outhouse with two washing machines and a dryer is available for guest use. Apartment 1 sleeps 2–4 people. Located on the ground floor, it has an open-plan kitchen, living and dining room with a double sofa bed, a tiled bathroom and a double bedroom. Apartment 2 is larger and arranged over two floors. The ground floor contains the kitchen, dining and living area with a double sofa bed. The first floor has the bathroom and a bedroom sleeping 3 people. This apartment also includes a spacious terrace overlooking the pool and natural rock. The owner also runs the nearby restaurant/pizzeria a few minutes’ walk away. The village has another restaurant, cafe/ bar and small shops, and there is a wild swimming spot about 10 minutes away on foot. The apartments sit above the local church, accessed by a narrow village road typical of rural Tuscany. Villetta is part of the Garfagnana region, known for dramatic mountain scenery, forests, river valleys and traditional Tuscan life. It is widely considered the best area in Tuscany for walking, offering gentle woodland paths and more challenging mountain routes. The region is also known for excellent value restaurants. A typical set lunch with pasta and main-course choices costs around €10–12 including bread, wine and coffee. A traditional multi-course Sunday lunch with wine and liqueurs is usually around €30. Friends of Tuscany work with a respected outdoor activity company offering guided walks, climbing, mountain biking, canoeing and world-class gorge walking. Generell empfiehlt es sich mit dem Auto anzureisen (welches nicht allzu groß sein darf!). Das Grundstück ist groß und der Pool sowie die gesamten Außenanlagen ein Traum. Das Haus selbst war insgesamt eher schmutzig und insbesondere die Küchenausstattung sehr in die Jahre gekommen (die Teflon-Pfanne war komplett zerstört und nicht nutzbar). Die Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine waren verschimmelt. Das Bett in der kleineren Wohnung war sehr durchgelegen und unbequem. Leider funktionierte die Heizung zuerst nicht, sodass in den Wohnungen sehr kalt war. Nach mehrmaligen Nachfragen wurde die Heizung repariert bzw. zentral eingeschaltet und funktionierte daraufhin einwandfrei. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur aufgrund der Lage in den Bergen und des Gartens weiterempfehlen. Das Haus ist vielleicht bei wärmeren Wetter gut nutzbar, wenn man sich viel im Freien aufhält. Das Innere lässt leider zu wünschen übrig. ##### Hendrik B. Séjour de 9 nuits en septembre 2024 ### 8/10 – Bien #### Benedikt S. 25 sept. 2024 #### Urlaub mit 2 Hunden Das Haus ist sehr rustikal, die Einrichtung zum Teil etwas abgenutzt. Der Garten und Pool sind super, was fehlt ist eine überdachte Terrasse. Die Straße ist tatsächlich eng, aber mit etwas Mut auch mit einem Audi Q8 machbar. Schade dass man das Auto dann nicht direkt am Haus parken darf.Die Gegend ist wunderbar, die direkte Nachbarschaft zu dem Hospiz bringt mehr Unruhe mit, als erwartet. Sofia, die Tochter des Besitzers ist jederzeit erreichbar und sehr freundlich. Die beiden Pizzerien im Ort sind sehr praktisch und lecker. ##### Benedikt S. The two sperate apartments suited us perfectly. On arrival there was an array of food stuffs waiting for us including wine, water, milk, pasta, bread and condiments. This was a very nice touch and much appreciated. There was a mix-up regarding our arrival time, so we had settled in by the time Sophie arrived to welcome us, however this was not an issue. Sophie provided us with extra towels and provided us with her phone number should we require any further assistance. We slept very well in the peaceful environment and enjoyed the many excellent restaurants that the local area has to offer. Two restaurants and bars are within walking distance of the villa, walking down is easy but be prepared for the walk back up! ##### Siobhan A.
