Salamander Beach Front

  • Step out of your back door and onto the soft sand of beautiful Salamander Bay. You'll feel like you're on your own private beach as you enjoy picturesque views out over the turquoise water from your back door, within steps of the waters edge. This lovely holiday home, ideal for a family, is located on a quiet street on the water, within easy walking distance (450m) to village shops, bottle shop, bakery and newsagent and much more. There is a lovely alternative walking route to these shops around the Wanda Wanda Headland, taking in the unspoilt beauty of the Bay, which is still less than 1km walk to the shops. The major shopping centre in Salamander Bay is only 4km away, and Nelson Bay CBD is approximately 10 minutes away (6.5kms), offering boutique shopping, award-winning restaurants and the marina where popular dolphin and whale watch cruises operate.

    This unique and comfortable home is situated on absolute water frontage. Grill up a feast in the undercover BBQ area and dine on the alfresco furniture, practically on the beach! Inside, it features a great open plan living area with space for the family to spread out, with cosy lounges, TV and heaters. There is a dining area and an older style, functional kitchen including a dishwasher, full fridge/freezer, microwave and a gas stove top. Ceiling fans feature throughout the property.

    The main bedroom has lovely water views with deck access, plus a queen bed, built-in robe and ensuite with a shower and toilet. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, with the 3rd bedroom offering a double bed with built-in robe and the 4th bedroom has 2 single beds and a built-in robe. The main bathroom has a bath, separate walk in shower and a toilet, and the laundry offers a washer and dryer.

    Parking is available with a double lock up garage and carport. There is also room for a small boat.

Absolutely beautiful location

The house itself is an older house so it has a few things here and there that could be fixed to make an even better stay. It’s a perfect location To go with a family. I would definitely stay again

Amazing location!

Amazing water views, waking up to dolphins right on your back step and crabs in the traps. House and facilities needs a little tlc but the price was right. We will be back.

house stunk like mould and dead people Management woudnt talk to me they got there customer service team to talk to me 5hrs trying to organise another property and they wanted me to pay They coudnt give me a house on water becoz apparently there was none. Never again with winning holidays.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property was absolutely untidy and dirty. There were balloon fragments behind and under furniture, in plain sight. Some of the Furtniture looked like theye were picked from roadside collections (and I am not kidding). Stovetop was terrible. Fans all rusted and dirty. The building structure and location is great, but interior is really bad.I have pictures to back this up, but will spare the host some embarrassment.A cleaning fee is included in every stay, but cleaning is obviously not done. I sent an email letting Winning Holidays know of this 1st think on Satruday morning, and they offered to "send the cleaners" thereafter. No Winning Holidays, you don't get to hope that guests will overlook the condition of this rental, saving some costs until someone complains.

Reviewer Comments: The picture in the website is completely different to reality, the beach is full of seaweed you can’t even see the sand and you can’t swim it’s for boat only, the backyard it’s dirty with no privacy so people will be walking anytime , next to the house there are public bathroom and park and always has people drunk and teenagers and noises , I was too worried to go out for my sake and my kids. The house from inside was ok a bit old, no air conditioning only fans which cooled the house but was too noisy, the rubbish bins were very dirty and had maggots. Kitchen oven and grill don’t work. Dish a washer handle was broken.The house was close to few beaches and shopping centre.

Outdoor furniture is unsafe cracked weathered. House in great location but not for swimming as thers seaweed ++. TV sound not functional & remote is faulty. Fly screens doors need repairs. Cleaners were called on day 1 & attended late in the day to clean premises. Kitchen implements needed, a fry pan & rice cooker, carving knives, peeler would be appreciated.

Very TIRED house - overall disappointing

We were a family of 7 that stayed in this property. Overall, the property was terribly maintained. From the moment you arrive in the driveway, garden is overgrown - weeds everywhere. Inside the house, mould all over every fan, house stank of damp and stale cigarettes. Flyscreens were broken - stumps of wood in the bathrooms to keep the windows locked, vertical blinds broken and missing. Beds in the bedrooms Very tired. I saw about 10 cockroaches over our weekend stay. Would highly advise against anyone booking this property to avoid disappointment. The property location itself was great - great views and a small park right next door. It is such a shame the property isn't being maintained and cleaned adequately.

Steer Clear! Old, damp and dirty!

Extremely uncomfortable furniture and beds. Furniture old and stained. Very noisy property with uneven floor boards. You pay top dollar for water views and have to clean the windows yourself. We couldn't use one bedroom as it smelt so bad, damp and mould. Would not recommend. By far the worst property I have stayed in. They have the very bare minimum in kitchen ware. No A/C. Not good enough. Very very disappointed.

Absolute water front

Huge flat house with flat lawn to waters edge. Plenty of walking tracks (and of course the beach) nearby. Walk to local shops for all necessities. Next door to park for kids. Quiet street, no traffic noise. Comfy beds.
