Spectacular Lake Front Home on Beautiful Higgins Lake with Amazing Sunset Views

Beautifully new furnished year-round ranch home with a bonus loft room. Floor plan is wide open with plenty of living and activity space to make family memories. Kitchen, living and dining rooms have a view of the lake to soak in the crystal clear waters and breath-taking sunsets. Enjoy a cup of coffee every morning on the porch rocking chairs and listen to the waves hit the shore. Home has 60 feet of sand beach frontage given unobstructed 180' views of Higgins Lake. Located on the south side of Higgins Lake, waist-deep water for several hundred feet make way for kids to enjoy a water playground of activities. Plenty of beach chairs are provided and there is a fire pit on the beach for night time smores and family gatherings.

The cottage has 5 bedrooms plus a futon room to make 6 separate sleeping areas. The beds are as follows:

2 twins beds
1 king bed
1 full pull-out futon
2 full beds in upstairs loft

All linens and bath towels are provided. Starter toliet paper and paper towel rolls and trash bags provided. Cable/Internet, gas fireplace, air-conditioning, washer/dryer (please start 1st load of linens for cleaning person when you leave) included. Grill available outside along with boat buoys.

Cross Country Ski Headquarters, Stone Turtle Yoga, hiking trails around Marl Lake, South Higgins Lake State Park, Ice Cream and party store shops just 1-3 miles away.

Pure Michigan adventures don't get better than this. Whether you like swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, snow skiing or snow mobiling, all 4 seasons can be enjoyed with this cottage.

House worked out perfect for 14 adults coming in for a wedding. Perfect location to get to the Barn at Higgins where the wedding was held.Clean, sandy bottom, shallow lake perfect for wadingFirepit location was a bit wonky. On a hill and too close to the lake to sit anyone on that side. Did not stop us from cramming in around it though.We lost power 2 nights on our 7 day stay. 11:30pm-5:30 am and then 9:30pm-1am. N.ot sure if that is a common thing or not, We were there in mid Sept and weather was perfectPlenty of supplies in the kitchen.Plenty of fans provided in the rooms too.We worked with Jennifer and she was very prompt and helpful.

Cabin is definitely “rustic”. House was not clean, mold in showers & faucet, bugs found on sheets in loft bedThe main issue is the host, she saw that we had purchased “damage protection” for our trip and used it as an opportunity to falsely claim that we damaged things we did not so she could submit an insurance claim (ie we took a leaflet out of the dining room table to fit a booster seat and she filed an 1000 claimed saying we broke the entire table when she just had to put the leaflet back in). It’s obviously that host hasn’t been to her own property in a while because she depends of house cleaners to update her on the status of her homeBeware of all the positive reviews, the house definitely didn’t meet description, beds were uncomfortable and host was aggressive after checkout and gave wrong information about docking boat.Neighbors are definitely not happy being next to a rental propertyGreat access to water though

Great family lake house

Located convenient to South Higgins Lake State Park boat launch ramp. Ample seating both lawn and interior. Every amenity was thought of - gas grill, covered porch with picnic table, dinnerware, cooking, bath and beach towels etc. The dock is perfect for enjoying the shallow sandy entrance to the lake. Our family of 9 had the best lake rental experience.

Perfect family lakefront cottage

This property was the perfect fit for our family vacation. We had 6 adults (great grandma, grandma, mom, dad, sister, boyfriend and 3 kids (ages 6, 4 and 4 months). More than enough bedrooms. The bathrooms were a little odd given they’re connected to the bedrooms but barely worth mentioning. The property had more than expected. Plenty of cooking supplies. Many basic pantry items. Cleaning supplies and paper goods were abundant compared to most VRBOs I’ve stayed in. The area of the lake is perfect for young kids as noted. The water is so shallow near the shore but deep enough you can rent/bring a boat and walk it to the dock area. Very much appreciated that there were fans in every room, although the cottage never got too warm. Also very much appreciated all the chairs, on the dock, near the fire pit and on the patio. My kids loved the sand toys too! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for cleanliness is because the carpets and the pillows could use a good cleaning. We would absolutely recommend and would rent this property again.

The property was clean, well described online and in a nice vicinity on the lake. Communication with Jennifer was excellent and checking in and out was smooth. Would definitely like to rent again except would need to bring our 2 small dogs.

Forrest Dunes Golf Trip

We had a group of 7 playing at Forrest Dunes about 25 minutes from this home. Great location, nearby the course that easily fit 7 adults comfortably. This place is way nicer and bigger than it seems in the pictures. Great place to come back to each day after long hours on the course. Host was very easy to contact and communicate with.
