This Penthouse condo is a luxury island dream come true. Completely renovated by new owners in 2022, enjoy endless views of the Caribbean Sea below you as you relax in the rooftop plunge pool. Your group will love this beautiful beachfront home!

Villa del Playa is located just outside of West End Village on the beach toward West Bay. You can easily walk to everything West End in less than 10 minutes for restaurants and bars, dive shops and gift shops.

But you'll more likely enjoy the peaceful tranquility of our location- especially since the renovation of the roof- It now offers a full kitchen, wrap around bar with stools, dining table , plenty of sun loungers, and a comfy sofa with large umbrellas. Relax in the private pool listening to your favorite tunes on the new Bluetooth speakers. Wifi is now available on the rooftop!

Inside the condo, the open-concept kitchen/dining/living area on the main floor offers plenty of space for your group to relax in the central air conditioning. The kitchen has all new high end appliances for the chefs in the group to enjoy. The entire Villas Del Playa complex has filtered and potable water throughout so you can vacation with the peace of mind that your water and ice is nice and clean.

A new large sofa offers plenty of space to play games or watch a movie on our flatscreen TV With 3 bedrooms, all with ensuite , the condo offers the perfect place for 6 to enjoy.

Spend your days basking in the Caribbean sun, launching from the beach in one of our sea kayaks or paddle boards, or getting picked up by your fishing or dive boat at our private dock.

Enjoy the shared pool just beside the beach – lounge on the pool deck or enjoy a quick dip after a day of diving.

Roatan is a tropical adventure playground and Villa del Playa is the perfect place from which to explore! The mesmerizing dive site, Blue Channel, is just offshore. You'll love snorkeling over this colorful coral reef filled with vibrant fish.

Utter bliss

We arrived at the property after landing late and stopping at the check in property as well as grabbing a few essentials at the grocery store. We were met by Jason who was wonderful to have around and very attentive to keeping everything in order. The penthouse suite is absolutely everything you could want on a beach getaway vacation. Whoever built the floor plan and amenities knew what they were doing. It is the best laid out property I have ever been to. If you don't want to leave the area you don't have to. But it's perfect walking distance to all the West End markets, restaurants, and bars. There was plenty of room for 6 and the rooftop is utterly amazing. The views and relaxation up there was everything you could ask for. If we could pick up this property and bring it with us to every beach vacation, we would do it in a heartbeat. They had to fix something with the water one day but it was just a few hours during the day so that wasn't too bad. We would definitely stay here again if we ever get back to Roatan. Kudos to whoever laid out this property, it is simply exceptional. Thank you.

Rooftop retreat

Bright, clean, spacious penthouse. There was only 2 of us in this 3BR 3BA, but plenty of room for a larger group. The rooftop pool has a beautiful tree-top view for a refreshing dip from one of many loungers. Bring bug spray for the beach and fresh water for drinking. Although we didn't cook in because shopping and restaurants were just down the beach by foot or nwater taxi,

The best rooftop and views around

I have been going to Roatan since 2008. I can safely say that the rooftop and views from the house are the best out of anywhere I have stayed. My words will not do these views justice - they are simply stunning. We spent a ton of time on the rooftop. We hung in the pool, cooked dinner on the grill and enjoyed sunset cocktails there. The house itself is nicely appointed. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook at home. The washer and dryer come in handy if you want to pack light. The three bedrooms easily sleep 6 adults, with an additional futon in the family room if needed. The proximity to West End is very convenient. Its about a 7-minute walk to be at all the shops/bars/restaurant. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Island Perfection

Overall the condo was amazing; everything we could have hoped for. Location was amazing, sunsets like none I've seen. We had paper products, towels, linens, kitchen utensils in both kitchens. The check in proces was different than any I've experienced since we had to go to an office at a completely different location, but the process was simple enough. We had unexpected maintenance happen at our unit one morning but it went smoothly and we learned about a dive shop to try so it worked out. I would definitely stay here again, it was perfect.

Great place

We really liked this villa and we all enjoyed it (4 yo and 65 yo). It was very nice and away from the bustle of west bay. Walkable or a quick water tax ride to town. The snorkeling right in front was awesome.

Beautiful Condo with Incredible Views

The condo was as beautiful as in the listing. It was extremely clean and well-appointed; the kitchen had everything you could need for preparing meals, etc. The beach is beautiful and restaurants and convenience stores are a 10 minute walk. The rooftop deck is the best with pool, bar, outdoor kitchen and incredible views. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely property with minor issues

Overall, our experience at Villa, Del Playa was very good. We had actually stayed in another unit in the same building approximately 10 years ago and found that there were some updates to the units. There were unfortunately some small issues that arose during our stay that need to be addressed to accurately depict the listing on Vrbo. The check-in process is easy overall, but really could be made easier by avoiding having to stop at a check-in office to pick up an information folder. The unit is very spacious and provides more than enough seating for plenty of people both on the main level and the rooftop. We found the air-conditioning worked quite well when we needed it. Water pressure was adequate for showering and hot water was readily available for this which was nice. Property is tucked into a nice little enclave of trees, which did sheltered somewhat from wind and sound. No doubt there are plenty of insects but bug repellent is a necessary thing anywhere in the Caribbean and this place is no exception. We did hear roosters and dogs every morning but we were up early anyway so no problems there but just a little info for light sleepers…you may want to bring some earplugs. The icemaker in both the kitchen refrigerator and the upstairs refrigerator did not work. Management did bring several bags of ice but this was not repaired during our stay. The grill that was shown on the listing was not on the rooftop so the listing should be updated.

Fantastic property in great location

All-in-all, a great trip. The property was amazing with everything we needed including 2 fully equipped kitchens. The second-level balcony was a favorite spot with parrots and macaws flying by daily. The location provided easy access to everything. Snorkeling: The kayaks and SUPs were perfect for paddling to the buoys to snorkel. (Tip-paddle past the closest 'soccer ball' buoy to bottle further out to the right and you'll be closer to the reef and blue channel. Take an indicator if you have one (e.g., orange scuba marker) to be more visible to passing boats.) Shore snorkeling locations include off the point at La Luna and off the point in West Bay - swim right around the shallow reef to reach deeper reef and channel. Food: Tita's Pink Sea Horse is great fun. The fish and chips (o-rings) at Luna are fantastic. Our favorite restaurant was Stowaway, which is on the far side of West End. Other: Roatan Divers is a great dive shop. Waves of Art has amazing art and souvenirs. The Marine Park shop has a good selection of souvenirs and books. The Cressi and Mares shops have snorkel/dive gear. Our favorite groceries were Roa, the veg/fruit mkt across the street, and the market at the round about (the only place we found meat). Good luck trying to buy fish - the stores didn't have any fresh/frozen fish and despite multiple efforts to purchase directly from local fishermen, no dice. Don't rent a car unless the dirt access road has been graded. It was almost impassible.

Wonderful family escape!

VDP#6 is a beautiful spacious home! As a family of 4 we all enjoyed our own bedrooms with en suite baths. Private rooftop was a great escape from all others. All beds and furniture were very comfortable. Lots of towels for inside and out and we had all the kitchen accessories we needed. The location is great! Private, but a short walk to many restaurants in West End and Half Moon Bay. We loved having access to kayaks and paddle boards and rode them to the snorkel spots just out from the house. Property Management was very responsive to the couple of questions we had on day two. We highl recommend this property!

Beautiful property

The penthouse is great for family gatherings. It has everything you need. The private pool area on the top floor is excellent for relaxing with amazing views. The half moon beach and grocery stores are only 10-15 minutes walk from the property.

Spacious beachfront, views!

Villas del Playa penthouse #6 Pros: Spacious; clean; spectacular ocean, beach and sunset views; diligent, helpful on-site manager; steps away from informal beach-side palapa dining at Tita's and more refined, upscale drinks and ocean-front dining at Luna's; quiet but close to main street of West End. Cons: Horseback riding occurs regularly on the beach, so you must be careful where you step. This 3rd floor walk-up and spiral staircase to the rooftop were no problem for us but could be for the elderly or unfit. Unit is well-worn and in need of some maintenance and updating - this will probably be occurring in the near future as it's been recently sold to a new owner, who sent a crew of folks to take measurements and make assessments as we were leaving. Overall, we totally enjoyed our 10 days there and are excited about the renovations to come. We would definitely consider staying there again!

Great location - close to everything West End has to offer

Villa 6 was great for our group. Had a total of 5 people for 6 days (two couples and a 13 year old). Can’t say enough about the location in relation to West End, minutes walk away from all the popular restaurants/ bars… but a tad off the beaten path, so got spared most of the (many) local vendors walking the beach. Plenty of space to accommodate everyone. AC (two central units) worked well; ceiling fans in all rooms; walkout balconies on the 2 main bedrooms; great views overlooking the bottom level pool, ocean, and sail boats. Upper level pool was great for the evenings / taking in the breeze and sunsets. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Washer and dryer worked well, and were super convenient for our needs. Unit 6 has a lockable gate at the top access point on stairs, so felt very safe/ secure. Eldin (care taker) was very helpful when needed (helping with COVID Tests, local knowledge) - and was always available. Night watch was on-site every time we walked home from dinner. Kayaks were convenient for accessing snorkeling. Go out to orange buoy to the East of Villa Del Playa (about even with Harry’s Hideaway), and tie-off to the buoy, shallow enough to get close to reef, and saw tons of variety of fish. AM is the best for clarity/ calm ocean. Only “downside” was there were sand flies while in the lower pool (no mosquitoes) - but these were encountered everywhere on the island (we stayed at two different locations and went to multiple beaches). No fault of the location - just a reality of Roatan. Don’t let it hold you back. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the awesome/ memorable trip!

Perfect Location/Beautiful Views

We stayed in #6, the top floor. Enjoyed the pool up top (completely private) and the kitchen was great...even had a blender for us to use! We were able to easily walk the beach to the West End but was just far enough away that we didn’t have to deal with the noise or traffic. Showers were great. We spent a lot of the time it rained (first 2 days only) around the large table playing games we brought. The views out the front were absolutely beautiful! When you leave after 7 or more days here your legs will be in great shape from the stairs and walks to West End! We took a water taxi to West Bay for a day, but ended up coming back pretty quickly because we preferred our beach and pool access. 😀

The unit was great. Will maintained, great staffing and the views were spectacular. The condo was very spacious as well. Was a little off the beaten path of West End but depending on your preference that could be a good thing too. Would stay there again in the future

Great Location

We loved the ocean views, rooftop plunge pool, and size of the space. We used the kayaks frequently and the boat dock for diving pick-up. We liked the walkability to west end as well. Great place for the price !

Awesome vaca

Great condo, great water, easy walk to West End to eat, shop, etc. I didn't like the West Bay area; way too busy; hundreds of people on top of each other on the beach fighting over lounge chairs. West End less crowed and a great vibe.

Amazing slice of paradise!

We spent the week of Christmas in the penthouse of Villa del Playa and loved every minute! Our family of 4 adult kids, husband and myself had plenty of space and the location was perfect! We did not need a car as the town was a quick easy 5 minute walk with an abundance of stores and restaurants. The people of Roatan are friendly and helpful and on 2 separate occasions, went out of their way to bring to us things we had forgotten behind (backpack in a restaurant and shoes on a water taxi). The house has filtered water, comfortable beds and a view to watch the sunset every evening! Our only issue was needing to bring more cash, as credit cards get an extra charge ( we paid for just about everything in lempera) but ATMs are spotty. Bring lots of cash! They take US $ but give change in lemperas. West End is definitely the place to stay! Go see the sloths at Manawakie Park!! Scuba with West End Divers and Eat at Ronny's Barefoot Bar next door to this house! You will love Roatan and its people!
