  • Ideal for a couple looking for peace and quiet with easy access to night markets, restaurants, and of course Muri beach and lagoon, Vaiarii Cottage ticks all the right boxes. Newly built this spacious comfortable studio comes with a massive covered veranda and expansive views of Rarotongas tropical interior. The home is down a little side road with almost zero traffic.
    Inside, the home is well appointed with new comfortable furnishings, a modern kitchen with a stove top and everything you might need to make you stay hassle free. Your hosts Mere and Jean Marc live next door and are very gracious hosts, they also run a very popular stall at the Muri night market (its in the far right corner of the market, even my 3yr old loves the food).
    A great aspect of the home is the veranda, which is large and covered so even when it rains you can still enjoys the outdoors.

    Muri Vaiarii Cottage is an easy walk to all the resorts, shops, tours and market in Muri about 1km, the beach is 100metres away, perfect for couples to relax and not do too much.
    Special conditions:

My husband and I had a great 8 night stay at this property. It is close to the lagoon and also lots of cafes and restaurants as well as the Muri night market. We did have a bit of trouble finding the property in the dark on our first night. Overall we enjoyed the private and peaceful location. Full kitchen plus a washing machine was appreciated. Would recommend having a car to get around.

We loved our stay here! Really peaceful, super comfy king size bed, close to Muri without being in the thick of it, awesome covered deck. Mere was a wonderful host leaving us fruit and treats too.

Relaxing at beautiful Muri Vaiarii Cottage

This little gem is tucked away and totally private with beautiful view of inland Rarotonga. Perfect for a couples getaway with everything we needed to be comfortable. Eddie and Mere are great hosts and really looked after us. Would definitely stay again as the location is perfect by the beach and close to restaurants and shops

Gorgeous getaway

This is our second time staying at Muri Vaiiari Cottage, and obviously we love it. Perfect place to stay when you want to truly unwind and relax. Quiet and private with everything you need for a couples getaway. Close to Muri and the beach, cafes and restaurants when you don’t feel like cooking. Great hosts , would highly recommend.

Lovely garden cottage

Very pleasant, comfortable and clean but it was the very gracious hosts who made it special- friendly and generous. They kept us supplied with gifts of fruit-mangoes and papayas. Close to nice swimming and snorkeling, close to restaurants and grocery shopping.

A perfect little home away from home

A wonderful place to stay and relax. Had everything that we needed and a nice addition finding a supply of goodies in the fridge on our 1am arrival. Mere and Jean are fantastic hosts and Mere makes an awesome curry at the night food market! Would love to return sometime

This was close to a little shop, coffee bar, restaurant and bar. Short stroll to Muri and Fruits of Raro. Lovely outside area for relaxing in. Beautiful garden. Spotlessly clean

Very peaceful with everything a single person or couple would want. Cooking facilities, fridge/freezer, a laundry, a comfortable king size bed, a large porch with a peaceful outlook and an off set clothesline. It is located in a private setting behind a house that has the road frontage. The bus stops here if flagged. Across the road is direct beach access, and the Laguna restaurant a few paces down the road. One minute 47 seconds (from the front porch) up the road are: the Saigon restaurant (the food is lovely) with an associated coffee/food stall, car/scooter hire, and a grocery/liquor store. 10 minutes walk up the road is the Te Ara museum with beautiful coffee and sandwiches. Two minutes further (walking) there is beach access with lagoon cruises, kayak and paddle board hireage, and another grocery store. Further cafes are here also.10 minutes in the other direction is the Puretu cafe, a chandlery and snorkelling area.So, with the location and facilities on hand, this place is great value for money.

It was a piece of paradise

We stayed 14 days in this lovely Cottage and resume: It was a piece of paradise. The Cottage is perfect for a couple and you will have everything what you need. The garden and the Cottage was totally clean and we feeled good and enjoed every day. Muri is the best Spot where you can stay on the Island. You will find Restaurants, bars, shops, Museum, hire stations and the best place to snorkel or realxing on the beach. As well you will find the Muri Night Market with a lot of local delicous food. We can recommend this place for 100% and hope we can come back on one day.. Thanks for all!

Honeymoon perfection

This wee home is just perfect. Fully equipped kitchen, huge sunny deck with a gas BBQ. Easy travelling distance to the night market and the beautiful beach. Two fans to keep the unit cool at night and insect screens on all the doors and windows. Highly recommended.

Everything you need!

We had such an amazing stay, would definitely recommend this accommodation! We stayed for over a week and the house had everything we could have needed. They have really thought about all the small things which makes it a wonderful and easy stay. It was so handy having a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a laundry. Such a great space for a couple as there is a secluded deck out the back aswell. Mere and Jean Marc were wonderful hosts which we were very grateful for. Make sure you try out their amazing curry at the muri night market. Location is a short walk to muri, but we hired a scooter which we could do in muri also. We hope to be back.

Beautiful setting, amazing hosts, wouldn't stay any where else, this is perfect

Having your own outside space to relax in no one can see you, its private, quiet, close to everything so that you can walk if you like, but far enough away you hear only the sea. The hosts are beautiful people. If you would like to stay in a new, clean, tidy. comfortable, romantic one room cottage, then stay here. I will be back for sure. Rarotonga is magical for its snorkeling, swimming with the turtles, culture and warmth. Thank you from a first time visitor.

Awesome place to stay , our host family was super nice and helpful. Cottage well equipped and everything brand new. When we arrived there was basic food and cold drink waiting for us in the fridge. Definitely recommend.
