About this property

Beds for Ten, Bathrooms for a Family • 4BR

  • A two-story house with the layout families need: bedrooms on both floors, bathrooms on both floors, and a kitchen big enough that two people can cook without elbowing.

Bedrooms: four. Three with queen beds, one with two double beds, so kids and couples both fit. A sofa bed in the living room is the backup.

Living and dining: a living room with a TV, a dining area, and a full kitchen that gets compliments.

Bathrooms: two full and one half.

Central heating and AC from a thermostat, with fans upstairs for the hottest days. Washer and dryer in the basement. A patio and backyard out back for the evening.

The whole house is yours, with a lockbox at the front door and the code sent by message before arrival. There are steps up to the front door. Bags can be dropped from noon.

Check-in is self-guided, so you can arrive on your own schedule. I'm a message away whenever you need anything during your stay.

Foster-Powell is a residential neighborhood with Foster Road as its main street, a block away. Speedboat Coffee, with a drive-thru and a cafe, is two minutes on foot. The Foster strip around Holgate, seven minutes, has bars, food carts, a bakery and a vintage shop or two. Division and Hawthorne are a 10-minute drive, Woodstock's restaurants about the same. The 9 bus on Powell runs downtown in 25 minutes.

Parking is free on the street, with no permits or limits, and the street is quiet.

Bus 9 on Powell and bus 14 on Foster both go downtown. By car, downtown is 17 minutes, PDX airport 16 via I-205, and Mt Hood about an hour.

The front door is up a flight of steps. The upstairs runs a little warmer than the main floor on the hottest days, which is what the fans are for. Towels are provided, washcloths aren't.

Parties and headcounts above the booking get reported and shut down, and the stay ends.
