Welcome to the “Nelson House” your low country, townhome, escape in a quaint neighborhood within walking distance of Port Royal’s restaurants, shopping, and festivals and within 5 minutes of The Sand’s beach, boardwalk, and boat ramp. The home is also within 10 minutes of Historic downtown Beaufort and Parris Island and thirty minutes to Hunting Island State Park beach!
The Nelson House is located within steps to the Cypress Wetlands walking trail, where you can enjoy a boardwalk stroll and abundant wildlife viewing!
When you are not out exploring, relax on the front porch and enjoy a glass of sweet tea or grill in your private backyard. The home has an open and bright floor plan with oversized bedrooms and cozy gas logs.
We purchased the Nelson House in 2024 and it boasted 65, 5-star reviews with its previous owner! Come enjoy the Nelson House and the best the low country has to offer!

We had a great stay here! Very nice setup, a real kitchen with dishware, cookware (so many places don't) AND Brad was very accommodating and responsive to our pet and trip needs. Having the wetlands next door and being able to see a fantastic rookery in full nesting action was over the top! Definitely coming back!

We had a wonderful stay! It was a perfect location in Port Royal with everything we needed just a short walk away. There was an excellent kitchen too which made it so easy to prepare a meal. We would most definitely stay again!

The house was so cozy and stocked with anything you would need for your stay. The close proximity to the small town was a huge bonus for my family. We enjoyed being able to walk to lunch and breakfast. Being ablento walk the trails of the wetlands practically in the backyard was out favorite part.

Everything!! Location was perfect, a short 10 minute drive to Parris Island and walking distance to local restaurants and shops! Being from Louisiana where alligators are common to us, we enjoyed watching others, watch the alligators behind the property! Could not have found any other location to accommodate us any better. Amazing communication from our host and a great location for our visit to watch our son graduate boot camp. Only 5 minutes away from the checkpoint on Parris Island and had everything that would could possibly need already stocked! Beautiful, cozy home in a nice neighborhood with trails and a very nice park within walking distance for the kids to get the zoomies out! Overall great experience. If you’re looking to find a place close to the Marine Corps Depot, or just visiting the area, highly recommended!

Cozy Comforts of Home

This was our second time staying at this cozy home and we hope to be back soon. It has everything needed while away. It is very close to Parris Island which is the reason for our trips. The host is very friendly and quick to respond to questions. We highly recommend this VRBO.

Beautiful home in Port Royal

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy, charming home in Port Royal. Only 10 minutes from Parris Island, which was great. Just a few steps away from the Cypress Wetlands where we could enjoy an early morning walk along the wooden bridges and pathways. The home was extremely clean and we had everything we needed for the week. Brad was excellent with communication and so pleasant. Highly recommend.

This rental is fantastic, it met every need we had. Just an absolute pleasure to stay here, I would def stay here again and recommend to anyone. Having the boardwalk literally in your backyard was amazing. We went walking everyday. Sometimes twice a day. Just an overall fantastic stay. Thank you for making our trip wonderful.

Brad was very responsive when we had questions or needed to contact him. The house is very clean and had everything that we forgot to bring with us. The wet lands is a short distance from the house and very interesting to explore. We definitely would recommend staying here!

Excellent place to stay while in town for my nephew’s graduation. Paris Island was minutes away. Plenty of amenities around for anything you need. House was clean and in a nice neighborhood. And a nice nature trail right next door that we got the check out. Would recommend this property to anyone

Birders Paradise

This townhouse literally around corner from probably best bird Rookery on the east coast. Cypress Gardens has amazing close up experience with all sorts storks, herons and egrets, plus turtles and alligators. And not an "amusement park" or zoo, these are wild animals that grown up with humans around them, so just ignore you. It also short drive to Beaufort and the ocean. Can even take day trip to Hilton head or even Savanah or Charleston. Townhouse itself was clean and modern.

Great location and updated proprry

Part of a duplex, this is a great place with updated design and appliances. Overall Very clean. We did not get any check instructions through VRBO but the owner/property manager was very quick to respond with the information. Great location and very close to downtown Beaufort and Parris island. Only thing we found was a water stain above the dining table. Notified the owner/property manager immediately to make them aware in case they did not know about a possible leak somewhere. Beds were very comfortable and the place stayed nice and cool during a very hot July summer. Would definitely rent here again.

Perfect for us

Instead of trying to get several hotel rooms, I chose to get a home through VRBO for our family to stay together. We were attending my nephews graduation from Parris Island and it was a great place to be and not be on top of each other. Someone could watch TV downstairs while the others slept undisturbed upstairs. The home was very inviting, clean, comfortable and just as shown on the website. The property manager was very kind and quick to respond. He answered any\all questions completely. We only wish we had been able to stay a little longer to enjoy the area. The only downside (which has nothing to do with this wonderful home or owner) is trying to get transportation to and from airports, the base and actually anywhere. Thank you for adding to the wonderful time we had visiting your city.

Just like home

Our stay was the best air b&b experience I have had I think in ever it was like I left home and went home. My family and I went down for my daughter’s graduation from the marines in Paris Island so if you are looking to book for that reason this property is very close and very spacious for a two bedroom. The instructions were very clear I had no issues getting in the house smelled great when you walk in very very clean and well stocked. Things that I thought that I would need to bring “already there” like tissue, paper towels, cleaning supplies, air freshener, trash bags literally everything. Everything worked “WIFI JUMPING” beautiful quiet street Literally no noise. I believe this neighborhood is filled with retired people just riding around on their golf carts enjoying the weather. One house down they have a trail that you can walk and see different types of birds and animals alligators turtles just amazing to see and people are there just to take pictures, Ahh it was great. My kid locked us out incidentally and I was able to get the host on the phone and get right in, in a matter of minutes. If I could rate this property higher it would be a ten star for me we had a great time and was very comfortable thank you so much.
