Loved my stay at great huts. Totally unique rooms, quiet property with detail to art and history throughout … beautiful cliffside views and chirping crickets at night made this stay feel relaxing . Don’t have to leave the property if you don’t want to , there’s a bar and staff will tend to your needs. The on-site restaurant is decent , but I wouldn’t suggest it if you’re hoping for authentic Jamaican food.
I would stay again!

Unfortunately there was a power outage when we arrived. Tanya was fantastic and made sure to find alternative suitable accommodation for us.
I would recommend the hotel for location and price and staff friendliness and would return in the future
The staff was. Super friendly
The place is so unique and close to nature
We were only able to visit one night but hope to be back again soon
It is a tranquil oasis that must be visited on this side of Jamaica

A Unique experience.
For me who enjoys comfortable surroundings I could only stay here for 2 nights max. Depending on which type of accommodation you stay in, we stayed in the Queen of Sheba family hut. Very spacious, alot fun but rustic.
The main reason for visiting this property is for the location andbreathtaking views. The cliffs and sea are beyond beautuful, an experience worth every penny.
Staff are non exsistent but friendly enough when you do encounter them. It was a weekday stay maybe they are more present on the weekends.
My family and I spent one night over our 4 day adventure in Portland. Our first time experiencing an eco-tourism type of accommodation. It was amazing.
We stayed in the Fig Tree hut and all I can say is it is the best room of the house.
They are undergoing some renovation but no disruption to our stay.
The front desk staff, Tania was pleasant and accommodating with a late checkout. She even took it upon herself to verify if we wanted to place a dinner order to the kitchen prior to closure.
We would visit again.
An Amazing place to stay if you love Nature....we did!
The staff was so friendly and the HUTS were decorated in the most unusual way.
Close proximity to beaches and food venues.
More Than a Hotel—A True Jamaican Experience
Great Huts is not just a hotel—it is an experience. The property stretches from the cliffs down to the beach, with winding paths through sea grape trees, coral rock, African-inspired art, treehouses, hidden sitting areas, and incredible views of the Caribbean. Everywhere you look feels like a postcard.
We stayed in a treehouse and absolutely loved it. The room was unique, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. At night, the property became even more magical with warm lighting, ocean sounds, and a relaxed atmosphere.
The staff was one of the best parts of our stay. Everyone was kind, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure we were comfortable. The food was also delicious, especially breakfast, and the dining area has so much character.
Great Huts also helped arrange transportation and local experiences, including our Rio Grande rafting trip. They connected us with trusted people who took excellent care of us from beginning to end.
This is not a typical polished resort with identical rooms and concrete hallways. It is rustic, artistic, cultural, and built into the natural landscape. That is exactly what makes it special.
We had a tremendous stay and would absolutely return. Great Huts became one of the highlights of our entire Jamaica trip.

My husband and I had a great time, customer service is great
Great stay at great huts! The staff was amazing, food delicious, and private access to Boston beach perfect - with natural pools to watch the waves crash.
I strongly recommend this resort to those who want to experience nature and are not afraid to sleep semi-outside - notwithstanding all the amenities!
Beautiful setting and wonderful property, a true unique gem, that has been loved for decades by the owner. Roberta, one of the staff, was exceptionally kind and helpful and made my stay unforgettable. Thanks Great Huts!
THE whole experience is unique. The huts are all very unusual, cozy and there are two awesome pools on the property. Having a private beach complete with hammocks and lounge chairs was fantastic.
Great Huts is an experience everyone who visits Portland must have! The hospitality is fantastic, and views from literally anywhere on the property are stunning! We saw a moonrise we'll never forget from the side of a cliff. I highly recommend this to anyone with an appreciation for nature and Jamaica.
Epic stay. Loved every one that worked at this special place. Highly recommend as I will never stay any where else while in Jamaica. Life changing. Thank you to Dr Paul and his insanely wonderful staff for the trip of a lifetime.

For camping glam hut 10/10 unique property and unique huts overlooking a cliff of Boston bay beach extremely friendly staff and next to Boston jerk. Walk beach and food. My only issue was I feel property needs better walkways that are safer and more groundskeeping needs to be done get rid of stagnant ponds Just know this isn't a luxury resort more of a unique camping in a hut treehouse with unique views. Great food at resort too we loved our stay and the people
As “hotels” go Great Huts really is unique. Huge site with its own private beach, rocks, hammocks etc. Quirky individual “rooms” of varying shapes & sizes “in the jungle” We stayed in Iqbo in the Africanerhouse. With aircon and effectively a private swimming pool. Super friendly staff. Made to order breakfasts. Nice dining facilities too.
Outstanding, totally outstanding, jerk food within walking distance.

Creative, beautiful and rustic.
Interesting and creative huts built out of natural materials. No locks but there are safes in each room. No AC, but there are big nets and fans. Great location and an awesome semi-private beach (local surfers paddle up and hang out there too). Amazingly friendly and attentive staff. Stay here if you want a true Jamaican experience and are ok with uneven ground and creative spaces.
What an amazing place! We absolutely loved our long weekend at Great Huts, so much so that we just hung out enjoying the beautiful lush jungle property and adjacent Boston Beach rather than venturing forth to see other sights in the area. This is not for you if you need luxury and a/c, but don’t hesitate if you love nature and being in the great outdoors, quirky artistic hut accommodation, good food and wonderful friendly staff. We especially loved the constant sound of the crashing waves that came with our fabulous Fig Tree hut. Thank you Roberta and everyone else at Great Huts for a truly unique experience.
Never lived in a treehouse before. It was fun to live in a tree and see that terrific sunrise. The meals tasted good but I expected them too be cheaper. Very helpful staff, they got me a bus to go to Montego Bay and a driver to get me to the bus. There assistance was vital.

I wish we had more time to explore the property. We only stayed a nite and it rained so we didn't get an opportunity to walk down to the beach. The wifi didn't work in the room but it did in dining area. The guesthouse area on rooftop and walkway needs repairs. The view is stunning.
