If it's your first time traveling during the COVID-19 outbreak, you'll notice a raft of new rules and restrictions in place. Follow these tips and make your getaway to Pool's Island a smooth one:

• Before you lock in a flight, find out if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by reviewing government and travel websites.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be required to lower it briefly for ID purposes. Passengers who refuse to wear a mask may be denied entry or boarding.

• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your hand luggage. This will need to be removed for X-ray screening.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
