"This was a very cool house that I would recommend to most families. Two families could stay in this house together, but more than that it's not comfortable for the adults. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs for adult couples to stay in and an upstairs loft with a ton of space for kids to sleep. The upstairs loft does have a queen bed for a couple who's willing to sleep upstairs with the kids. This is what we had to do and it was very difficult to sleep because the noise from downstairs carries right into the loft and of course kids don't want to go to bed, lol. The porch outside is wonderful and has a great view. There's grass for kids to play in very close by, but don't recommend letting them get in the pond nearby. Kids were getting sick from it in the neighborhood. There were plenty of fish in the pond and the kids enjoyed fishing. The lakes are wonderful on the island and a great place for kids to swim. Be prepared that the stove and oven work sort of...unpredictably. If you move a bunch of plates and cups into alternate cupboards then there's plenty of cupboards to put your stored food. However, when we first got there there were cupboards and drawers with just a couple of things in them so we just had to rearrange the kitchen stuff to make room for all of our food. The fire pit in the backyard is awesome. It's a little frustrating that the 2nd bathroom is inside one of the bedrooms, because it's awkward for the other guests to use, so be mindful who you put in that room."

"Great place. Loved sitting on the deck along with using the boats and swimming in the lake. So quiet during the week. Enjoyed watching the wildlife too. Anderson Island is wonderful. Love all the history, too."

"Very nice house, great place to stay. Lots of seating, both inside and in the different outside areas. We all very much liked it and would gladly stay again. It was our first time on Anderson Island and definitely not our last. A few caveats, though- the driveway is steep, and made of loose gravel. Can be a bit tricky, particularly if your car is loaded with multiple people. The bunkbeds in the main floor bedroom are rated for a weight limit of 165 lbs- so probably just for kids or smaller adults. The kitchen has rather fewer utensils and coffee cups than it should. The owners should consider spending a few bucks on adding some, just for the convenience of the guests. Construction on the exterior decks seems a little questionable. Not a building inspector but I can count lag bolts- and there are fewer than I'd use. The big issue I have, though, is with the pricing. The cost per night was fine, but the added fees were 40% of the pre-tax total. That's far higher than any other VRBO I've rented. I still rented it, obviously, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Just my two cents! Beautiful house, though."
