### Stunning Rural Location Offering Peaceful Relaxation

Casa das Sobreiras (The House of Cork-Oaks) is a detached family villa finished to a high specification, in the peaceful village location with far reaching stunning views of Mt. Vez and across the valley opposite. A large equipped patio area with BBQ and Pizza Oven with comfortable alfresco dining area, together with a secure and private tranquil setting of large gardens with heated pool and hot tub, allowing for all year-round bathing.  
Enter the property through the main electrically operated gates and proceed to the large garage which has sufficient parking inside for two cars, there is log storage area and a workshop, attached also is a bathroom with wash basin, WC and Shower. The garage also contains a clothes dryer and chest freezer.  
The pool and relaxation areas have space for pool and sun beds, garden furniture with plenty of shade. There is a 2-person hot tub and pool shower, children’s flume and diving board. The pool is heated and automatically salt chlorinated, for all year bathing. The surrounding terrace is well illuminated together with built-in remote-controlled pool lighting, colours of which can be varied as desired.  
The villa is ideally set up for couples or family holidays with complete privacy. The villa is air- conditioned throughout and underfloor heating is available in all rooms  
The accommodation is luxuriously equipped with fitted units throughout and capable of comfortably sleeping 8 guests (additional camp-beds are available on request):  
Master en-suite double bedroom with king size double bed and large opening windows to tiled balcony with views over the valley to the small town of Espinhal;  
2nd en-suite double bedroom with king size double bed;  
3rd bedroom with king size double beds, use of house bathroom;  
4th en-suite bedroom with twin single beds;  
Arranged as you require at booking enquiry stage;  
Free Internet and wi-fi access are available and can be arranged at booking enquiry stage;  
Relax in the very comfortable lounge and enjoy the large TV with Sky channels;  
There is also a DVD player and well stocked library of DVDs, CDs and popular books;  
If you prefer outside relaxation settle down on one of the terraces or patio areas with a coffee or glass of wine on a warm peaceful evening under the amazing clear starlit, skies;  
Tired of star gazing? then turn on the illuminations, light up the terrace and change the atmosphere completely and maybe enjoy an evening swim in the illuminated pool and be surprised how the water feels even warmer than in the sunshine earlier;  
The villa position offers easy access to safe "off road " walks in rural shady forest surroundings;  
A quiet and peaceful location yet only 5 minutes from the Castle town of Penela and 30 mins south of the original capital City of Coimbra. About 2 hours from Porto or Lisbon. A real gem in the heart of Portugal. Within 5 minutes’ drive of local Supermarket, Variety of restaurants, Bars, Cafes, Shops, Hairdresser, Banks, Internet cafe, Chemists and Doctors surgery. Local Organic farmers markets are every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. There are a number of historical towns to explore within a short drive. Coimbra the original Capital city on the river Mondego with beautiful university and Quinta das Lagrimas (the house of tears) learn about the romantic tragic " Romeo and Juliet" story and visit the fountains of Love and Tears;  
Fatima (Portugal's Lourdes) the city of the apparition;  
Tomar, about 30 mins on A13 southbound, with Moorish castle, Convento de Cristo and town market;  
Figueira da Foz with Ocean and amazing white sandy Beaches 30/40 minutes’ drive, via Condeixa and Soure;  
The impressive Roman villa site of Conimbriga only minutes from the house;  
A smaller excavation site in Rabaçal (Look for the traditional local Rabaçal cheese sold in the village and widely throughout Portugal;  
Our representative will meet you on arrival and welcome you to the house and area on your arrival and describe to you the local supermarket, baker and restaurants etc.;

#### Jolie maison dans un endroit calme

Nous avons passé de très bonne vacance. Mais les équipements sont décevant et ne correspondent pas au photo. Jaccusi en panne (aucune excuse du propriétaire)pendand les 15 jours de notre séjour,deux parasols cassés il n'en restait plus qu'un,ne comptez pas non plus sur le hamac ni sur le frigo qui fait des glaçons, la baignoire n'est pas utilisable car il n'y a pas de pomme de douche. Le rapport qualité prix n'est pas très bon.La piscine est agréable ainsi que la literie. tout porte à croire que cette maison n'est pas bien entretenu et c'est dommage. Nous n'y retournerons pas

Très belle propriété. Magnifique piscine. Déçus par l'absence du hamac mais surtout pas la communication avec la gestionnaire qui n'a jamais réussi à nous contacterpar téléphone. Nous avons récupéré le bien 1h30 après ! Et nous avons dû recevoir des livraisons et plusieurs visites de la gestionnaire pour nous en alerter. C'est vraiment dommage car ça aurait pu être exceptionnel.

Was für ein komfortables und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus. Es liegt äußerst ruhig, in einem winzigen Dorf an einem Hügel. Der gut sortierte Supermarkt in Penela ist nur ca. 3km entfernt. An die schmale Zufahrtstraße zum Haus gewöhnt man sich schnell. Das Haus ist mit allem für den täglichen Bedarf gut ausgestattet. Dies gilt insbesondere für toll eingerichtete Küche. 3 Schlafzimmer haben ein eigenes angeschlossenes Badezimmer. Jedes Schlafzimmer verfügt über eine Klimaanlage, die etwas lauter ist als aktuelle Modelle. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich in jedem Zimmer wohl. In den Betten konnten wir gut schlafen. Nachts ist es einigermaßen ruhig. Vereinzeltes Hundebellen oder auch mal das Krähen eines Hahns am Morgen war nicht wirklich störend für die Nachtruhe. Wer schon einmal erlebt hat, dass wild lebende Hunde einen die ganze Nacht wachhalten können, wird die es hier als angenehm ruhig empfinden. Der Pool und die Außenanlagen sind fantastisch und hat eine Tiefe von zum Teil über 2 Meter. Der Poolbereich wird den ganzen Tag von der Sonne beschienen. Es gibt wertige Außenmöbel. Lediglich der Sonnenschirm, welcher zur Beschattung recht wichtig ist, war vollkommen defekt und müsste dringend ausgetauscht werden. Auch die riesige Garage haben wir sehr gerne genutzt und konnten unsere Ausflüge entspannt in einem kühlen Fahrzeug beginnen. Uns hat der ganz Aufenthalt extrem gut gefallen. Wir haben uns herrlich erholt und jede Stunde genossen.

#### A Nice time in a quiet, out of the way part of Portugal

This is a beautiful house with heated floors, a heated pool and a hot tub (and all 3 worked which isn't always the case with a rental). Our 9 year old loved the pool and slide, we all loved barbecuing on the outside fire (you need to go into town to get the briquets) and we loved the spacious well-appointed house. It's on a quiet country road on a tough to navigate turn, but once there it is a little slice of nice. It was central for us as we visited Sortelha, Fatima, the Schist Villages and a River Walk in the nearby mountains for some canyoneering. I could see this being a great chill house for a family reunion or trip.

#### Wonderful Peaceful Break

We came back to Portugal after four years having spent many years on the Algarve and touring from the far North, through the centre and along the whole coast. We wanted to find a typical, unspoiled area this time and found this lovely villa near Penela. The location, surroundings and countryside are so beautiful and unspoiled. It is Portugal as we remembered it, near to so many lovely places, amazing beaches and fantastic restaurants. Prices are still very good and we had some lovely meals. A notable one at the little bar in the town near Dom Sesnando , on the corner, best meal goat in red wine, pork steaks, chips , carafe of wine and 2 beers, 18 euros. Family owned , very simple, perfect. We barbecued turbot , drank lots of wine, went to the winery in Penela which is also a museum for olive oil production. Worth a visit , tasting with local cheeses , hams and honey. Adelaide , the Manager went out of her way to help and advise us. We can’t wait to go back and sit by the gorgeous pool , sipping wine and listening to nothing but the wind in the pine trees. Your house is lovely Jean.

Great accommodations. Spacious and clean. The deck with hot tub and pool area was a great way to relax after a day of sight seeing. Check in process was lacking with no person available on sight and poor written instructions. In spite of this our stay was very comfortable. Would recommend.

#### Beautiful house wonderful pool

The house and pool were wonderful for our family of grandparents parents and grandchildren. We had plenty of room for everyone the option for outdoor covered dining was a bonus. The market a short drive away made it convenient to purchase our groceries. The road up to the house is narrow but once there the views are amazing. The swimming pool was outstanding the temperature and buoyancy of the water a delight

#### Peaceful getaway

Chose this area of Portugal as we wanted somewhere rural and quiet to have a complete break. This villa was perfect for that. Had everything we needed and the pool/outside area was perfect. Pool was a bit cold at the beginning of the holiday but didn't stop us using it. Adelaide who met us at check-in was efficient and very helpful. We contacted her a couple of times and she replied promptly to help. Had some great days out visiting castles, roman ruins and a visit to Tomar. Would recommend if you want a place away from the tourist areas with plenty of culture and a villa to relax in and have a complete 'switch off' Thanks for having us

The conditions of the house are outstanding. The kitchen is fully furnished, which allowed us to cook some delicious dishes for 8\. The living room is spacious and the heated floors are heavenly. The property manager is very attentive. We also did a hike in the neighbourhood and it was very pleasant. Overall we had a great experience.

#### Amazing views and pool

When we arrived the property manager couldn’t check us in but had left instructions, non of us could work the front door key but it didn’t matter as we used the side door. It’s a lovely big spacious house and the setting is one of the best. Great for staying in and relaxing and also going exploring. Cleanliness was ok, fresh bedding etc but behind sofa’s etc/under things and the BBQ could have been better. We arrived to cheese and wine which was a nice gesture but milk, tea and loo rolls would have been my preference but understandably others maybe prefer the cheese and wine (how ungrateful do I sound). We found the local supermarket pretty quickly and it was very well stocked. The plumbing in the main bedroom down stairs wasn’t great and was linked to a smell outside upon flushing but often find this in foreign properties, though sometimes I could be taking a shower in a tray of water. I didn’t report it at the time so never gave them chance to rectify so it couldn’t have bothered me that much. Don’t leave anything out at night, we left an unopened box of croissants on the side and the box was black with ants when we got up. I was a little apprehensive with the salt water pool not loving the sea but I can’t tell you how amazing and clean the pool was. I have long blond bleached hair and I didn’t need to wash it getting out (if you know you know). It was huge and brilliant. The property is slightly tired in areas but for a holiday let I don’t blame them not constantly replacing things. I also think if the property was brand new we couldn’t have afforded to go. The view was fabulous, and we did have an amazing time. I just couldn’t give a full 5 due to certain things. The property manager always replied in minutes of us contacting her (even if late at night), though sometimes her response felt abrupt to me, but this is just my opinion and could be a difference in cultures. It’s a fantastic base and there is lots to do in the local area. If you have kids look up the tree experts, it’s only 10 mins away. If you like culture Tomar is a must :). Thank you for letting us hire your home, we have made some great memories.
