Pacific Dunes Ranch Riding Stables Tours and Activities

My husband and I have stayed here quite a few times, and we have always enjoyed the rooms and the property. The reason I gave 3 stars on one page was because we both love an ocean view, so in May, 2026, we,booked the upstairs partial ocean view king room. Room was as always clean, good sized and very comfortable bed. However, our mistake was deciding to stay upstairs. It was still sprinkling by the time we got there, and those straight cement steps were slippery. I’m disabled so it was really difficult for me, which means my husband had to carry everything upstairs by himself. That was our bad decision, however, those stairs could be very dangerous. We are staying again later this month, but downstairs this time. We do enjoy staying here, just not upstairs. Everyone, just be careful of those steps!

Hotel was still in the last stages of renovation. Everything was new. Great views of the ocean and mountains from our balcony. We even got to see a space launch from Vandenberg Space Center. Great beaches nearby, one only a few minutes walking. Close to San Luis Obispo, Hearst Castle and other activities. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Very good restaurant shares the same parking lot, walkable.
