Dog friendly. Short walk to beach. A delightful location in the historic Village of Omena, Lavender Lane is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home that welcomes up to eight guests. It is immediately across the street from 140’ of beautiful private beach. Offering comfortable lodging and room to spread out, the cozy living room overlooks Omena Bay. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are provided. The kitchen is spacious and nicely appointed with all updated appliances, including a dishwasher. There is also a washer and dryer. One bedroom is located on the main level and three bedrooms are on the upper level; the bedrooms provide 1-king bed, 2-queen beds, 1-twin, and a trundle. All bed linens and towels are included. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and window air conditioners in some rooms as well. There is one in an upstairs bedroom, dining room, and in the lower bedroom. The wonderful beach is where you can enjoy sunshine-filled days and fireside fun at night. In addition to a side deck, a small courtyard with a patio behind the house offers a nice private spot to grill and unwind. The house is within walking distance of Knot Just A Bar for beautiful and rare waterfront dining; the Leelanau Peninsula Winery Tasting Room, Tamarack Gallery (a Midwest premier gallery), and the local corner convenience store. Lavender Lane is sure to delight everyone. Omena is halfway between Suttons Bay and Northport – either is just six miles away. The charming town of Leland is eleven miles away and Sleeping Bear Dunes is less than an hour's distance. These nearby small towns offer shopping, art galleries, museums, a movie theater, dining, breweries, and wineries. Leelanau Sands Casino is just a short drive south. There are miles of hiking trails throughout the county. You can enjoy farm markets in Suttons Bay, Northport, and Leland. The only two negatives we found was 1\. The bar-b-que grill was filthy. So much so that we decided not to use it at all. 2\. We had a lot of " bug issues". We are seasoned campers so in general they do not bother us. we were killing up to a dozen or more roaches, stink bugs, silverfush etc. each and every day. Right away (on Friday morning) we reported a significant gas smell in the water heater room. The only response was that it had been checked recently and to open the window. Let me start by saying this listing had only 4 reviews. Many of them were mediocre. Some of the complaints were things that didn’t seem like a big deal. In fact the owners replied and said they would be taken care of. The Air conditioning unit on the second floor that was complained about because it drips down to the first floor on the outside still was not taken care of so we just didn’t use that A/C unit, no biggie. Capital I in terms of lodging I knew we were staying at the cottage cleaned and simple no problem I booked this property because everyone said that no matter what problems they had experienced the home was clean which is a big deal for me. However upon entering the kitchen within the first few moments I realize they were coffee stains all over the drawers, moving into the family room there were mouse droppings on the mantle, And the funny thing was the floor was still wet from them sanitizing due to the new COVID-19 restrictions there for the cleaning lady must’ve just left yet there were stains on the counter and mouse droppings all of which I took pictures of as evidence. Moving on into our stay the second night we were awakened by the wrestling of some sort of critter.I called the office immediately at 9:03 in the morning to notify them that I found mouse droppings as well as heard noises all I was told was OK we might thank you for letting us know no one said they would come out and take care of it nobody said anything in fact I got the same response when I called to tell them that the toilet was running causing condensation to form on the outside of the toilet over the period of the two days that we had already been there once again oh that’s totally normal don’t worry about it never once did anybody say will send someone out to take a look.I understand that during the new Covid rules and regulations interactions are very limited the part that got me very upset is the mice got into our food and my son was exposed to contaminated food! I had to call my pediatrician immediately. What a lousy way to end a trip. I fully expect VRBO to take a bit more pride in the listings they advertise. Too much money for the package. ##### Rima M.
