There is an arcade in the town midway; There is a water park in Fenwick Island called Thunder Lagoon (5 miles south) that has a lazy river, kiddie pool, and water slides. Lots of putt-putt golfing options the in area. Rehoboth Beach (12 miles north) and Ocean City, MD also have water parks and amusement parks with rides. Bethany Beach boardwalk area has restaurants, charming shops, toy stores, art galleries, arcade, volleyball and free concerts at the Gazebo bandstand. There is also a miniature golf course. Acres and acres of nature conservancy next to our community is perfect for strolling, biking and jogging! Looped trails and bridges are a relaxing way to get exercise and appreciate nature. Enjoy beautiful, unspoiled, picturesque views of preserved bay with many wild birds and plenty of shade. Don't miss this activity! (Trail heads east on Fred Hudson and then trails traverse their way through Bay Pine forest over bridges and maintained trails to the preserved bay and wet lands). There are also sunset and moon kayak paddles offered within a mile on the Indian River, which you can schedule through Eco Bay Kayak and SUP at James Farm Preserve Ecological Park. The sunsets are sensational. Kayaking in Delaware: Delaware has only 2,000 square miles, but with 117 miles of coastline, it has much to offer kayakers. In addition to beautiful launches at Cape Henlopen and Delaware Seashore state parks, there’s a lesser-known gem near South Bethany Beach. The three-mile-long Assawoman Canal, connecting the Indian River Bay (to the north) with the Little Assawoman Bay (to the south) is a charming, serene canal. The canal is a 35-foot-wide no-wake zone. We really enjoyed the screened in porch and the view of the pond and fountain. Having a gym, swimming pool and playground within the gated community to use was a plus. If you’re looking for a community with amenities this is very nice. However you will need a car to drive to restaurants, beach, boardwalks. All accessible within 15-30 minutes north and south of the house. I wanted something away from the crowds but close enough to go when I wanted and this was a great choice. ##### Adrienne W. The pool was a very easy, lovely walk away and delightful. It was never crowed and allowed for evening swimming. The closeness of the grocery store was a definite advantage for a large group, who seemed to need grocery trips on a daily basis. Overall, a very pleasant experience. ##### Fran F. The rental was perfect for celebrating Thanksgiving with family. The home is lovely....beautifully decorated, plenty of room to spread out, lots of seating, large well stocked kitchen, and nice size yard for our fur babies. Located in a gated community with a beautiful view of pond and fountain. Location was very close to many restaurants, shops, and, of course, the beach : ) . Gorgeous backyard view. Peaceful, quiet neighborhood and amenities. Gated community. House is huge. Plenty of room for families. Only gave 4 stars because the home could use some updating, deep cleaning, and power wash. There was dog hair on the carpet and crumbs in the pull out sofa. Small things that didn’t ruin our stay, but housekeeping needs to do a little bit better. We know that these things can be easily missed as dog hair is hard to get up. Also, we felt a little harassed by HOA. Kind of annoying especially when we weren’t the ones breaking any rules. I've typically stayed in properties closer to the beach and boardwalk in Bethany, but the lakefront property was perfect for my family and me, including our 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter, as well as our dog. The house is spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking together in the beautiful kitchen, coffee and games in the screened porch, views of the lake from various rooms in the house, and the availability of the pool, kiddie pool, pickleball courts, playground, and gym. The house and its amenities provided great alternatives on days we did not wish to go to the beach. Some family members conducted work-related Zoom calls, etc., during the week and used the screened porch and/or the office area in the den to complete their work.The owners, Debbie and Ted, were extremely helpful and responsive regarding any questions we had during our stay. They provided excellent check-in/out instructions, which made both processes easy to complete. We hope to return to this property on future visits to Bethany. ##### Linda C. This home is absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully decorated, spotless, luxurious, and they thought of every amenity. It was the perfect spot for our reunion with our friends from DE, PA & CA. The kids loved the lake out back and the boardwalk that goes to the playground and the pool. I can't say enough nice things about this home and the owners. We were able to get away with our kids and pups for a few night during the holiday season. It was exactly what we needed. We played games and visited the town of Bethany and Rehoboth. The house was super cozy and spacious. We loved the view of the water and really enjoyed the pool table. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Everything was clean. The community is quiet and friendly. Home is a quick drive to many beaches and restaurants. We were able to walk to the small grocery store and nice dog friendly restaurant across the street from the community. Communication with the host was great. We suggest bringing your own towels as the ones we paid for were rather small for some of us. We did feel the listing was a little confusing about whether linens / towels were included in rent or provided for an additional fee, but we worked this out with the host in advance of our stay. We did notice several cleaning issues (dust under the beds, bottles from other tenants not picked up by cleaners under bed, coffee pot was really dirty, many pots and pans put away were very dirty, and ceiling fan in the main living room was really dirty) but we brought several of these issues to the owner's attention and we are confident she will address with the cleaning team. We stayed at the end of season so things like marks on the walls and no towel rack in the bedroom were noticed but understood. My family just returned from a relaxing week at Bethany Beach and we’re already missing this lovely home and the beautiful & relaxing view from the screened-in porch! The house is located in a wonderful, quiet neighborhood within a close proximity to all the local beach activities, and we definitely appreciated the quick access to the grocery store across the main road. The house is so tastefully decorated, and being a family of 6 adults and 1 child, the house provided plenty of “together or alone” time, with room to spare. My elderly parents thoroughly enjoyed their leisurely walks across the convenient boardwalk to the community pool and the screened-in porch did not disappoint!
