Excellent!all areas very clean!easy checking in/out with code!still under construction down below kitchen etc?but beautiful views when all finished!highly recommend
The room was better than we expected for the price. Very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and shower and amazing view from the window. The only slight negatives were that the room wasn't as warm as we would have liked (the radiator didn't get very hot and the heat wasn't uniform across the radiator so possibly needing bled?) and the carpet could have been vacuumed more thoroughly. But we had a great, though short, stay and would definitely recommend Dalrigh House to others.
This was a beautiful property, located in the heart of Oban. Walkable to downtown and the waterfront. The owner or property manager was very friendly and helpful and welcoming. The room was lovely and clean. Highly recommend!
It was just a very nice place. Remodeled beautifully inside with wonderful views of the water. It’s a short walk to town or you can drive in and park easily. The common room was nice, too.
Great spot to stay in Oban. Rooms were clean and felt modern. For the price it was definitely worth it. Easy check in process and very close to everything you needed downtown. Would definitely recommend.
My only complaint is they use a lot of those scent diffusers around the property which always give me a headache so if you are someone who is sensitive to that might be worth looking elsewhere.
We stayed in Oban for two nights and we had such a wonderful time staying at the Dalrigh House. It is located about a 10-minute walk up from the main Oban downtown area. The check in process was all automated and easy which was nice after a long drive. Our window looked out on the town and the room was very comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend staying at the Dalrigh if you have a chance to do so.
This location is perfect for exploring Oban.
The room was clean and quiet with a comfortable bed.
There is a big common room available to sit in with a lovely view of the harbour.
The lock box is a bit tricky. The mechanism has tiny wheels to set the code any a very small latch to release the lock.
I would recommend this property to fellow travellers.
Basic single room, helpful staff, issues with host
The room I booked was a very small single with a shared bathroom. I chose it due to limited accommodation availability in Oban at the time. The space was functional but not ideal for spending extended time in the room.
There are no staff onsite during the day, and check-in is self-service. However, there was no welcome guide or instructions provided, which created some confusion—several guests asked me how things worked while I was in the common area. I appreciated being able to use the shared lounge/dining area, as the room itself was too compact to be comfortable for anything beyond sleeping.
The cleaning staff, particularly Maree, were very friendly and helpful. However, after submitting initial feedback through the platform’s messaging system, the owner's response was unprofessional and dismissive. I have reported this to Hotels.com and Expedia.
This stay was excellent. I had to have adjustments made to my reservation last minute and Liam with the Darligh house was extremely kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again and recommend my friends.
Very comfortable beds and decor lovely. Cleanliness could be a bit improved especially in bathroom and shower.
Internet access great.
Communal fridge in lounge so there is no fridge in bedroom which is fine but if your looking to keep anything in the fridge it’s handy to know 🙂 In all we had a lovely stay
Had an issue when we arrived, but Liam quickly addressed the situation to our satisfaction. There was a small frig in the dining room, but a microwave to heat meals for those who didnt want to eat out, would have been advantageous.
I stay "corrected".Very bad weather changed, everything but after a bit of a slow response, Liam came through, accepted and accommodated change of dates professionally.
While i was looking for B&B in Oban, i did have two esential points:
A - Parking. This was fine.
B - Wifi. Strathnaver's wifi was not functioning! I flagged this via email, no reply.
Other guests confirmed that no functioning wifi is a long lasting issue.
There were no outside lights working so when arriving in the evening as we did, it was very dangerous going up & down the steps into the guest house. There was no welcome at all & trying to contact host's took a little while! Once eventually in the property it was VERY cold. We stayed in room 2 on the ground floor which was also VERY cold. The room was very dated & the shower room was very small. The shower was AWFUL the water pressure was non existent & the shower hose was severely damaged. Very disappointed stay.
