The historic market towns of Oakham and Uppingham are within 3 miles and enjoy an array of antique shops and galleries, independent shops and eateries to discover. A little further is the historic Georgian town of Stamford 12 miles, with its cobbled streets and individual shops. Great bungalow to stay in. Local pub (horse and jockey) just a 10 minute walk away, lovely meal in there. We stayed in carrot cottage, which had everything we needed. Only couple of things: 1. TV a bit small and couple of steps to bedroom could be a problem for a disabled person. My mam managed them, but worried she might fall over then at night. So left the light on over night. Overall great place to stay.
