It has the charm of a small town yet has great city style conveniences. The town has many restaurants and shopping. Oak Harbor is a perfect jumping off place to explore the Pacific Northwest. You can go north to Deception Pass, Anacortes and the San Juan Islands and further north to Vancouver. South you can go to the lower Puget Sound and Seattle. East takes you to La Conner, Camano Island and Mount Baker ski area. West takes you to Victoria, Butchart Gardens and the Olympic Peninsula. There are great opportunities for fishing, hiking, bicycling and kayaking. Plus just relax and take in the breath taking views. Oak Harbor enjoys a wonderful climate. I stayed a whole week visiting my son and was able to make many meals in the well stocked kitchen. It is located with walking distance of “main street” and a great coffee shop. The very best part of this property is the view! What a treat to sit and have your morning coffee watching the bald eagles and the tide come in or out. It has great views, comfortable beds and furniture. Everything was very clean and spacious. Location is great; close to town and close to the ocean which had a great place to go walking! The only down side was the downstairs neighbor, she complained multiple times about our children being too loud and she could hear running while trying to work from home. We watched two lovely sunrises. All the furnishings were very clean and very comfortable. It was cold when we stayed so we drove everywhere, but in good weather this would be easy walking distance to some shopping and dining. The parking space is nice but a little tricky to back out in the dark. There is also no coffee provided so bring your own. ##### Heather C.
