Bell Cottage, a period cottage between the North Yorkshire Moors & Dales
Bell Cottage was a weaver’s cottage where workers from the Brompton flax mills lived. The house is 18th century with a 19th-century addition, and restored to a high standard. Brompton is a historic village, close to North Yorkshire's main town, Northallerton. It was an important centre for linen making with eight mills at its peak in 1820. Our cottage is a part of that history. Brompton offers excellent access to both the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. We have owned Bell Cottage since 1995. Originally, we lived in the South East of England and escaped to Bell Cottage most weekends. In 2017, we decided to move permanently to the glorious county of North Yorkshire, and we lived here at Bell Cottage for three years with our daughter and three Labrador dogs!
We could not bring ourselves to part with this little gem of a cottage after moving permanently to the Moors. So, we decided to let others enjoy what we have enjoyed for so many years. :-)
