A couple of days later the lodge, and numerous cabins on the premises, burned and were destroyed. It was an amazing time at the North Rim Lodge and surrounding area. Would like to make this an annual event. The lodge, saloon, post office, and cabins were all rustic, charming, and provided a magical feel to our trip. But, the crown jewel was the majesty and splendor of the canyon itself. A perfect view of the creator’s handiwork of color, dramatic cliffs, towering pines, and sweeping panorama views dotted with the cutest chipmunks. Our last morning here, we sipped our coffee as we sat in the beautifully handcrafted wooden Adirondack chairs with new friends. Somewhere on a trail below us, someone was playing a hymn on flutelike instrument.
