  • Acorn cottage is a spacious one bedroom cottage with a sensitive application of traditional and modern facilities and equipped to a high standard and level of comfort. The large light and airy lounge/diner situated upstairs features a log burner to ensure you remain cosy and comfortable on cold evenings.
    The attractive patio which is accessed from the lounge is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the beautiful Devon countryside.
    Centrally located in the picture postcard village of Stokeinteignhead with the benefit of a well stocked village shop and the highly rated pub 'The Church House Inn' just a stroll away. (Closed on Mondays)
    lf you want to venture further we can recommend fabulous pubs & restaurants in the area, with excellent reviews.
    We are just a short distance from Shaldon, the Teign estuary and the South Devon coast path offering some fabulous views to sea, the rolling Devon countryside and Just a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach at Maidencombe.
    Within a short drive there are several other beaches, the Torbay Riviera, golf courses & the stunning Dartmoor National Park-which is well worth a visit.
    With so many places to see you really are spoilt for choice, making this charming cottage a perfect escape for couples who wish to explore this lovely area.
    So make yourself comfortable, relax and enjoy a glass of wine with our compliments!

Wer sich Devon ansehen möchte und das Leben auf dem Land erleben möchte ist hier genau richtig. Abends einen Agatha Christie Film ansehen und man meint, ich bin Mitten im Filmset. Supernette Vermieter, saubere Unterkunft, uriger Pub mit leckerem Essen 100 Meter entfernt. Wenn Devon, dann nur diese Unterkunft.

We had a really lovely time. Maddy and her husband are such warm and welcoming hosts. They were always up for a quick chat and happy to give us tips on places to visit. We really enjoyed the cosy little terrace :) We’d love to come back!

The cottage is very well equipped and was extremely clean. The owner was very responsive to queries and made sure that we had no issues. I would very highly recommend this property. The village does require travel down some narrow country lanes but the cottage itself is worth the trip.

Ein schönes, kleines, gut ausgestattetes Cottage im Inneren einer Hofanlage mit einer abgeschirmten Sitzecke und ganz viel Ruhe. Freundliche Vermieter und Dorfbewohner. Der kleine Dorfladen deckt die Grundbedürfnisse und der Pub hat leckeres Essen. Der nahegelegene Küstenweg lässt sich in beide Richtungen gut laufen. Ein kleinerer Mietwagen ist zu empfehlen, da das Dorf- wie gefühlt alle Dörfer in Südengland - nur über kleine einspurige Straßen zu erreichen ist. Wir haben die Unterkunft als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Cornwall (1,5 bis 2 Stunden) und in Devon sowie Wanderungen im Dartmoor NP ( ca 1 Stunde) genutzt.

The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival with lovely christmas decorations and a basket of goodies. The log burner was perfect for cold evenings. It was ideally positioned for sightseeing. The local pub across the road is ideal for an evening meal or just drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

A truly charming gem of a preserved small community only a mile from the sea. This town is prosperous and the citizens are proud and motivated. The local pub is a very classy and pleasant place with excellent choices of food.The 13th century church is fascinating, and the bell ringers continue dutifully to sound the town's afternoon salute.The property itself is beautifully constructed and maintained, with a little balcony overlooking a big garden area. Amenities were all as represented.The only admonition relates to the access to the town on single lane roads, and the parking place is minimal. Therefore, a smaller rental car is advisable.

An idyllic cottage property in a stunning location ! The cottage is a really charming property and suited our needs for a weekend away perfectly. It is very well appointed, clean, spacious with everything you might need. The little garden terrace is beautiful for sitting outside surrounded by the plants and flowers with only the buzz of bees, and the chirp of birds to break the quiet. The location is perfect, set in a little village with friendly people and a local pub, which is also friendly, warming and lovely for a visit. Then other places of interest are not far away such as Totnes, Ness cove or Teignmouth which has a nice beach !All in all cannot fault the property and Maddy the host was welcoming and friendly and came by to check we had everyting we needed and she had also answered any queries promptly before arriving.I would highly recommend this property.Thank you !
