A representative from Blue Moon Vacation Rentals was available beforehand to help, and she greeted us personally at the house. We were immediately charmed by both the interior and exterior spaces. Furnishings were ample and comfortable (especially the beds and linens!), and the up-to-date appliances worked perfectly. For all three generations - kids of all ages - the pool was the preferred hangout, with the beach (a short walk away) a close second. A 3 min walk to the beach with kids. Of course, since we were bringing kids to the beach we frequently piled stuff in the minivan and drove 30 seconds where there was plenty of free parking. The beaches were great. A few days there was ALOT of seaweed but that's pretty common for the Gulf in July. The house was pristine. The pool was a little smaller than we expected from the pictures. However, for our 5 and 7-year old it was plenty big enough. I'd say the pool is about 25 ft x 12 ft. But there were not many other homes with pools so we were grateful to have a spot to cool down in the afternoon. A few tips if you stay here: - Bring paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, washing machine detergent, and trash bags. They provide a starter amount of each but if you're going to be here a week, you'll def need to buy your own. - Plan 1 or 2 big shopping trips. There's only one road in and out of the island and if there's traffic, it'll be almost a 1 hour round trip. Without traffic, prob 20-30 min. Overall, I'd have no reservations about booking a vacation here again. The house was perfect for the 8 of us (4 adults, 3 kids, 1 baby).
