Lovely building all to ourselves in Ercolano
Lodging is in a second building behind the main residence with patios all around and wonderful places to enjoy the outdoors. The beds are upstairs while there are 2 bathrooms both with showers - one upstairs and one down. The kitchen was well stocked and even supplied with coffee for the morning and a starter kit of breakfast. The Circumvesuviana train station was a 15 minute walk, not difficult, connecting us to everything we wanted. We were able to go to Paestum one day even (for Greek ruin variety from the Roman ruins in Pompeii and Herculaneum). Sonya shared the contact of her friend a taxi driver who took us places as well - he was great! Though neither Sonya nor her friend spoke much English, we used WhatsApp and translation apps to help us through. Our only potential difficulty was that the taxi drivers from Naples had a REALLY hard time locating the address. We had 2 different ones get lost coming from Naples. I found the VRBO directions most accurate, though the drivers really wanted to doubt them! But the place to stay was comfortable and adequate. We used the washer for one load but it leaked on the second load - but Sonya got it fixed while we were gone during the day (after asking if she could come in). The clothes were pretty slow to dry though so between how long the tiny washers in Italy take to wash and drying everything on a rack, we weren't able to get much laundry done there. We ended up going to the laundromat. Would recommend this place to others!

Wonderful Property
Lovely hostess, beautiful garden, a suburb of Napoli’s. Quite a large cottage on a grand estate. A little hard to find but worth it.

An oasis
I did not put the address in correctly for my first night arrival and thought it was another location. This is very important, and PLEASE arrive during daylight hours! The property is GORGEOUS, the guest house (this listing) is wonderful. My ONLY complaint, and it wasn't a problem for me at all because I am 5' 4" tall (162.5 cm), is the top floor (bedrooms and one of the bathrooms) is the roof and the ceiling slants down significantly. You will hit your head at the sides of the house if you're not paying attention. A 6" tall person may have a little issue. But, overall, the gardens are gorgeous, the main house (the owner's home) is BEAUTIFUL. The property is secure (gated) and it's really lovely. We drove everywhere so I can't report about getting around via public transportation at all. The host was very communicative via VRBO message or better yet, texting via whatsapp. Highly recommend. (Shower's great -- good pressure and good heat.)

Beautiful and Peaceful Stay
The place is exactly what we expected from the listing. The apartment is located in midst of a beautiful garden and in a gated space close to the main house. It is very spacious and very well equipped. There are 3 outdoor eating areas in this apartment which is a wonderful way to enjoy Sonia's flowers and unique garden treasures. Great proximity by car to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples. Sonia is a wonderful host and is very knowledgeable on the history of the area. Would definitely book this place again! Thank you Sonia, it was very nice to get to know you and your mom.

Comfortable and self contained villa, a little further from Naples than I had first thought but only a short train ride away. Ready access to historic sites and shopping. Sonia was a lovely and helpful host.

It was outside of naples
Even though we had to take a taxi into Naples I couldn’t of asked for more of a helpful owner she brought us fresh oranges off her tree and drove me to the grocery store ordered pizza for me cause I only spoke english. She is an amazing hostess with a beautiful garden and a/ c in the house huge plus. Driving back in Naples was 50 times worse the New York so we went out on a Sunday we’re there was no one out! I would book excursions cause drinking the coast is even worse with no parking. Otherwise for a family there was plenty of room. Thank you again Sonia and her mom who were super kind and helpful

A perfect oasis to sightsee from
A perfect place for us that met all our needs. Safe and secure, Very clean, beautiful and tranquil gardens and a great location from which to see all the surrounding sights. Excellent AC in all rooms and excellent wifi for multiple devices. Tv was a bit disappointing because there were only Italian channels and the place is a bit tricky to find initially but overall it is a fantastic place that we would recommend.

Bella, Bella, Bellisima!
Villa Raffaella is a beautiful little house behind a private area of a family home (una villa grande). The separate residence was not an apartment, but it's own domicile (gated) with private access to the front door by car and taxi in beautiful Ercolano (near San Giorgio a Cremano). Sonia the wonderful daughter and her regal family live on the premises. She gave us every help and direction we needed including the number of Ciro OUR taxi driver. Ciro picked us up and dropped us off right at our door for all our trips a Napoli, to Pompeii, to the train station....tutti (and always at a very fair price). He gave us a personal tour explaining everything as he drove us everywhere. In Pompeii he even secured a wonderful tour for us on site, dropped us off and pick us up later. What a gift...grazie Sonia for Ciro and for everything. Staying at Villa Rafaella felt like we were con famiglia and we came to Ercolano to visit our own family (who still live in San Giorgio a Cremano). Every morning I would walk downtown. The people, il caffe', the food, and the churches...to me it was like una fetta di paradiso! My family came from Naples and all this was possible because of Sonia and her bella famiglia. I cannot imagine staying in a better place. Bravo Ercolano! Brava Villa Rafaela! Brava Sonia (e bravo a "da famous" Ciro" PS Gentile Sonia, Puoi condividere questo con "il famoso Ciro"? Grazie, Ricardo, Janet, e Susanna
