Then when you get back to the building there is not a direct way to get into the building. You have to go around to the end of the building or go through several doors and the pool area to get to a elevator. Layout is very poor. The room that we were in was dated and Not kept up. The floors were dirty and the in unit washer was broken with a note not to use The tv was very bad with only a few channels available. The hot tub area downstairs was not maintained well and had mildew and mold growing on the sides. The check In process Process was aggravating also probably because we booked with a 3rd party. But I wouldn’t call this place a Resort. More like a overpriced condo rental. Big problem when you have had a long drive. Our first condo had a major leak in the kitchen sink that leaked out and soaked the carpet. I have booked through hotels.com many times and this was my first experience like this. After reading the fine print on my reservation information, I realized I had to go off-site to the third party's office to retrieve and return keys and pool passes. The fine print did not mention anything about this being a private rental and that the Avosta itself had nothing to do with it. The gentleman at the front desk actually told me that if I had any issues not to call them unless it had something todo with the pool or amenities. I usually don't give any reviews, but I felt like I should this time. We booked a unit at the Avista using Elliot management. Check in was easy and staff was friendly. Upon arrival the room wasn't very clean, patio chairs were very dirty and in need of a deep cleaning. The room had one blanket and when asked for an extra one at the hotel reception, they said they can't help and I should contact Elliot management. I did, but they had no extra blankets and even if they did have one, I would have to go get it from their office, not on site. I ended up buying one the next day. Elliot management offered to reimburse me. We had no cleaning service for the entire stay (4 days). The rental agent, Elliott Beach Rentals, said we had no choice but to clean the room ourselves as they had no other accommodations available. So we spent 2 hrs cleaning to get to the point we were comfortable staying. We received towels and linens but no comforters, mattress covers or clean shower curtain since the cleaning service employed by Elliott never showed. We were told we would get a "cleaning credit" but haven't received it yet.
