About this property
Mini Mullum Studio Retreat
Own space & own access. Located in the heart of old Mullum, this freestanding cabin offers a rustic yet modern vibe with a huge covered terrace, garden and dedicated parking and entrance. Be a part of the Mullum “action” only minutes to the famous Middle Pub, Mullum Continental and Banya Bathhouse, restaurants, shops, Byron School of Art & Mullum markets aren’t far either. High ceilings and sliding glass doors open up the entire place to create an indoor/outdoor haven makes it extra special.
Open plan living with lots of light but completely private. Huge shaded terrace offers the perfect al fresco chill out space. Despite being close to town, this is a sleepy little lane offering you a truly lovely escape.
Riley Lane access - drive in to your own private haven
I live in the main house - text is best if I’m not about. I respect how you want to spend your holiday - it’s easy to avoid me as the dwellings are completely separate and divided by a fence but happy to have a chat any time.
In the heart of town therefore very close to everything : Middle Pub, all the fab eateries, shops and the amazing Kiva Spa. Mullum Markets are a short drive or bike ride. Mullum Pool is about 5-10 minutes walk. Have your choice of beaches - Byron 10-15 minutes, Brunswick Heads and Tyagarah (naturalist beach) 7 - 10 minutes. Smack bang between Ballina and Coolangatta airports (30 minute drive).
Mullum township is flat so bikes are popular. A car is the easiest way to explore the surrounding areas.
The water dragons are friendly PLEASE read house manual for bin/rubbish rules (very important). Mini Mullum Retreat is perfect for those who want to relax. I ask you remove your shoes before entering to keep the house clean. It’s a sleepy little neighbourhood so no parties permitted and keep music to neighbour-friendly levels - I can recommend the Middle Pub or Mullum Continental (both a short stroll away) for music and partying.
You have been provided with a key to ta padlock on the gate for your peace of mind if you wish to to have added security.
DOGS - the only thing worse than picking up dog poo, is picking up another person`s dog`s poo! Due to irresponsible dog owners, I am not asking for a $75 pet fee and dogs are only permitted if agreed upon your on request. If agreed, please keep you dog with you and do not leave them at home alone. Any barking complaints will result in your stay being immediately terminated. Please also consider the wildlife. Keep dogs inside at night to protect the water dragons (plus may protect them from eating cane toads which are deadly to dogs). Clean up after your dog and dispose of the poo somewhere else - not to be left for me to dispose of in my bins.
Mullumbimby is home to this cabin. Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens and Brunswick Picture House are cultural highlights, and travelers looking to shop may want to visit The Brunswick Heads Community Markets and Byron Community Market. Visit our Mullumbimby travel guide

The cabin is private, large, very clean with a large outdoor area. It has a full kitchen if you want to cook and is walking distance into town for eating out. The host was fantastic and gave me full privacy. This will always be my place when I’m in town.
Wonderfully spacious and pet friendly accommodation.Good fully fenced grassed area with excellent undercover seating including comfortable seating.Absolutely loved everything about this accommodation and would highly recommend.Samantha was extremely helpful and unobtrusive. Will stay here again.
We had a wonderful time at Mini Mullum! This was our first trip to Mullumbimby and we want to return already. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay long, but as soon as you enter mini mullum the space sets you at ease and you have everything you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay. The surrounding cafes (paséyo), burger van (Ichi Bun) and pubs (top pub & the middle) in the area are great and a short walk away. We found many that were pup-friendly which was wonderful as we were travelling with our whippets. The host is fantastic, check in was easy, and communication was fab. Look forward to returning again soon, thank you!
This studio is classic Mullum "inside/outside living" and is exactly like it looks in the photos. We stayed for 12 nights while visiting our grandson (and his parents). Its quiet, airy, comfortable and roomy for two, with good light.
Samantha was great to deal with and quick to respond to a couple of small requests.
We really enjoyed being a short walk to the centre of town and so close to the walking paths along the river.
Highly recommended
