#### Explore the preserved salt meadows that lie behind a large beach in this traditional fishing village. Enjoy its excellent restaurants and shopping facilities.

Morro Jable is a small fishing village that developed into a sunbather’s paradise due to its array of natural beaches. Visit the renowned Playa de Cofete, a stretch of golden sand with stunning mountain views and intriguing terrain. Modern apartments and hotels are built into the scenery in this quiet village, whose old centre remains a quaint, charming retreat.

Enjoy views of the sparkling ocean as you walk along the promenade and visit the boutiques and restaurants facing the shore. Meander through the palm trees in charming avenues and capture photos of you and your family with a backdrop of the water. Note how the hotels and apartments are constructed to fit seamlessly in the hills facing the ocean.

In the Plazoleta de Cirilo Lopez, try culinary delights that centre on fresh fish caught by locals. Watch the fisherman nearby to recall earlier times, before the area’s tourism boom in the 1970s.

Look around the shops, bars and restaurants in the Centro Commercial de Jandía. Travel to the Playa de la Cebada for calm and shallow water that is appropriate for young children.

Take a taxi for the 50-mile (80-kilometre) journey south from Fuerteventura Airport to Morro Jable on the island’s south coast. The journey should take slightly more than an hour. Alternatively, take a shuttle bus or coach to the beach destination. The small villages of Esquinzo and Jandía lie north along the coast.

Morro Jable is a quieter option than some of its neighboring resorts, offering you a glimpse into the fishing village’s simple past.

Nice hotel, very spacious rooms, comfy beds and bedding, decent food, very good animation team, nice pools. You'll need a car though to get to the beach and shops or be prepared to get taxis although I think there is a shuttle bus but not sure how often in runs.
