This contemporary cottage enjoys a peaceful location in an elevated position just minutes away from the village hub. Perfectly placed to take advantage of all that Blockley has to offer but ideally located to ensure a tranquil stay. Blockley is a delightful golden stone village, situated within the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds between Moreton-in-Marsh (with direct rail links to London Paddington) and Chipping Campden, with an abundance of walks over the surrounding countryside. Blockley's beautiful church, churchyard and vicarage are used for the filming of "Father Brown", a period BBC detective drama. The village boasts many other historic buildings including a converted water mill along the brook; a fabulous community run café and well stocked shop and two pubs within walking distance. Also nearby are Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, and Bourton-on-the-Water. You’ll also be within easy striking distance of Cotswold hot spots Chipping Campden, Stow-on the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh and when you return to your home from home after a busy day, muted tones and restful interiors ensure complete relaxation. Additional Information A high chair, travel cot and stair gate can be provided upon request. One well-behaved dog welcome (additional charge). Ground Floor: There is a self-contained and heated entrance lobby with far-reaching views, and which houses the washing machine in a cupboard. Sitting room With a living flame fire, an LCD television with Freeview and a DVD player. Conservatory/dining area Which is flooded with light and heated to ensure toasty dinners when the sun has gone down. Kitchen With a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and range style cooker ensuring you have everything you need. Cloakroom/wc. First Floor: Bedroom one With a 4'6 double bed. En-suite With shower, wash basin and WC. Bedroom two With a 4'6 double bed. Bedroom three With a small 4' double bed. Family bathroom With a bath and shower over (please note there is low water pressure in this shower), wash basin and WC. Outside: The front garden has a step up to the front door, and there are two off-street parking spaces. Accessed from the conservatory, the outside space includes a raised deck area with barbecue perfect for catching the rays or relaxing with your holiday read alongside the small but perfectly formed garden. Off-street parking is available for two cars. Mid way between Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh, Blockley is one of the larger Cotswold villages and remains relatively unspoilt. Like many of its Cotswold counterparts, the heritage of the village is firmly rooted in the wool trade but unlike others, following the decline of the wool trade, the village prospered thanks to the presence of silk mills supplying silk ribbon to the Midlands. The handsome architecture means it’s very easy on the eye, the Norman church is particularly striking but despite being picture postcard pretty, there’s a real sense of community here too with the village shop being a community concern which is not only ‘open all hours’ but has a café that also opens Friday evenings for dinner – very civilised! There’s a great pub (always a boon for self caterers) and a wealth of things to do and places to visit nearby with Batsford Arboretum, Cotswold falconry (and archery) and the gardens at being just a few. There are an abundance of quintessential Cotswold villages and towns: Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Snowshill, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. Nov 15, 2025 #### Cosy well equipped house in great location Blockley is a perfect location to explore the Cotswolds. Well stocked community shop and cafe and great waljs from the doorstep. Not overrun with tourists! Little Shrublands was a delightful and well equipped house and wd felt very comfortable in it. We visited in November so were unable to take advantage of the conservatory/dining room and lovely garden area but they would provide great extra space for summer months. ##### Anne H. The house has a lovely, homely feel about it and is in a quiet and peaceful setting. We would definitely recommend it to others and stay there again. We ended up eating our dinner in each evening in the lovely sun room and then going to bed early after our days of hiking through the lovely neighbouring villages meeting very nice people along our way! ##### Debbie M. Apr 23, 2024 #### Return to a well equipped and well situated property Little Shrublands is a modern link house with a pleasant rear garden situated in a quiet cul de sac close to the church where the Father Brown mysteries are filled. It is tastefully furnished and well- equipped. The village is off the beaten track ideal for walking but boasts two pubs a shop and a cafe. We have had a few visits there as we enjoy it ##### Ole B. Very comfortable and so many little extras that we wouldn’t always remember to pack. Very well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Nice secure garden for the dog too. Ideally situated for visits to the local villages and also Oxford and Stratford. Lovely pub 2 minutes walk away. I wish I’d booked a longer stay and hope to return in the near future. Many thanks to the considerate owners. From a partner site ### 10/10 Excellent Sep 6, 2024 #### Highly recommened! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Little Shrublands so much so we didn't want to leave. There were three adults and two children. We will definitely be recommending it and returning for our next visit to the Cotswolds. The house is so well equipped and beautifully furnished with a lovely private and well maintained garden. Being situated in a gorgeous village, it's the perfect location for a magical time spent exploring and enjoying the Cotswolds. If you're looking at this property as a potential place to stay, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Little Shrublands for the best accommodation. From a partner site ### 10/10 Excellent Jul 27, 2025 #### Perfect! Already planning to come back.................... This beautiful house was absolutely perfect for us from start to finish. The ease of booking, comprehensive instructions and warm welcome (the cake was wonderful - thank you), just arriving there was easy! The house itself is wonderfully maintained, and has everything we needed to make it feel like a 'home from home'. Close attention has been paid to the small details making a huge difference; instructions on how to use equipment from the washing machine to the TV, guest toiletries, tea and coffee - even the smell of the house was sublime. The bedrooms are a great size, with extremely comfortable beds and linens (please can you share where the mattresses are from?!). Situated in a lovely position in the village, sitting in the lovely garden listening to church bells and a donkey were novelties for us! Villagers at the local pubs and shop were very friendly and welcoming, and the local cafe was a real treat. Nothing to fault at all, I only wish we could have stayed longer - we'll be back next year. Thank you for making this such a great experience for us, you can see the hard work and love that you put into it. Verified ### 10/10 Excellent #### Abigail B.
