The Firefly cottage was adorable and so well put together. My mother in law lives local so it was a perfect place to allow our family to hang out together. The only thing I found disappointing was that we were on the lake and it really wasn’t the lake experience I thought we would have. We really couldn’t swim. I had hoped to be able to float and hang out more in the water. No where does it say that it is good swimming but I guess I just assumed since there were kayaks and a dock. We went out for the day to a beautiful beach and visited Traverse City which was about 1 1/2 hours away. In the end it all worked out. Other than that I would say this truly was a successful rental. My husband and I were golfing at Garland and wanted to float on the Ausable the day before. Great location to both places. We stay in VRBO’s all over the country and have to say this is one of the best properties we have rented. The extra amenities were so special and greatly appreciated. Bottle of wine to drink while watching the sunset. Snacks we could take on the river and golf. Best of all fresh bread and cinnamon rolls from the local bakery.
